I like that it does what it’s designed for but it could be a little more sturdy in the arm of the umbrella. More like a steel tube instead of the same cheap metal that makes up a regular umbrella.

This umbrella only extends 9" from the hot shoe...according to the dimensions. It's a fun tool to have in my bag. I docked a star because the hot shot foot seems likely to be the first piece to break - it's just plastic. There is potentially a lot of force on that little plastic foot - especially if you tilt the umbrella forward to better cover a lens. You can replace the foot of course...but you will need something smaller than the standard 1/4 20 thread. The umbrella shaft does indeed screw into the foot, but I don't know what the specs are - it's about 1/2 the size of the standard 1/4 20. maybe 3/16?The foot has a very small ball head. There is a lot of leverage on this little ball also, so it's second in line to break. It's main drawback is the difficulty in tightening it sufficiently to lock it in place because of it's small size.Anyway, it was a fun order. I actually think it will come in hand, but only occasionally - when there is a light rain and NO wind. (or it will catch and ruin your focus).

I got this NCTCYO Large Size Camera Umbrella because it is larger than another camera umbrella I have tried. This one is fairly large, which should make it more useful than the smaller one. It extends far enough when attached straight to barely cover the end of my 18-35 mm lens, which would protect the lens and camera from light rain, although not from heavy or blowing rain. The umbrella is more useful to shade the camera from the sun, especially since the mounting angle can be adjusted. The umbrella is well made overall and looks like it should hold up well, except for the hot shoe foot. The foot and the adjustable ball mount are mostly plastic and do not inspire confidence in their ability to stand up to heavy use. I like the size of the umbrella and its construction overall, but I can only give it four stars because of the plastic mount that looks like it might break with the slightest stress.
