This looks like a more expensive old school neon clock, but of course it’s not. It’s a nice imitation with a plastic chrome housing and fake blue neon that looks pretty real. The clock second hand is smooth and overall it seems to keep time which is the whole point. Couldn’t beat for the price.

I bought the first one about 5 years ago. I loved it so much I bought one for another room. About 6 weeks ago, the light went out on the first one. Since I read that the light only lasted about 2 or 3 years, I bought a third one to replace the first. When I took it out of the box, it occurred to me to check the new electrical cord on the old clock. To my surprise, the clock is still fine. The light works with the new electrical cord! So if you have a problem with the light, check the cord. You might be pleasantly surprised. I HIGHLY recommend this clock

First off, like you, I read the reviews before purchasing. Here is our story- bought the clock for my son's room, Dec, 2017. The neon light is darling and is extremely bright for a bedroom, but is super fun (he is 10 yrs old, for reference). The light can also be turned to a blinking mode. The clock MUST BE PLUGGED IN FOR LIGHT TO BE USED. I must have missed this item in the reviews as the plug ruins the look we were going for. It would be fine in a garage setting or maybe on a shelf where the plug can be hidden, but it is an eyesore on a bedroom wall. THE CLOCK STOPPED WORKING ON DAY 2. The clock still ticked and the hands still moved, but it was SLOW and must be readdressed, EVERYDAY. I made the mistake of throwing away the packaging on arrival (not sure what got into me). However, this wasn't a prime product and I would have had to pay to ship back to seller! ugh.The packaging was great and clock looked to be in perfect condition (it's the terrible clock mechanism that stinks!). I bought this clock to replace a blue only neon clock that was in my garage. I liked the cool blue effect it made, and apparently so did someone else. It was stolen when I left the door open for awhile. Other valuable things were left alone. I'm still looking for a blue glow somewhere nearby.This clock is good looking, I didn't realize it also had an inner white neon bulb when I ordered it. It's fairly bright, but the overall effect is still nice in my garage/shop. It ticks loud, so I wouldn't recommend putting anywhere you want silence.It hangs from a single point, and the neon switch is off center a bit, so the clock swings when you pull the chain switch. I put it on a remote relay switch so it's not a problem.When I received it the hands were misaligned, so I had to remove the cardboard backing and clock face to adjust them. Also the second hand was hung up on the minute hand. It was an easy fix and appears to be working now. Good looking clock.
