About this item

  • Packaging may vary
  • The desired range for total alkalinity is 80-140 ppm
  • Add 1 oz. of this product and retest every 30 minutes until total alkalinity is in the range of 80-140 ppm

Critical to alkalinity control, this granular formula effectively raises alkalinity levels which might otherwise cause equipment corrosion. This product is a special compound used to increase the total alkalinity in spa water. Test for total alkalinity with a reliable test kit. The desired range for total alkalinity is 80-140 ppm. This product increases the effectiveness of the disinfectant, and helps prevent scale formation. It also prevents corrosion of metals, etching of spa surfaces, eliminates “bounce”, and maintains pH at the proper level. Easy to use; dissolves quickly. 1. Add 1 oz. (2 tbsp.) to spa water. 2. Allow water to circulate for 30 minutes. 3. Retest water and repeat Steps 1 and 2 until the desired level is reached. For best results, dissolve granular products first by adding to a small plastic pail filled with water.

Love Leisure Time products. This like others is reasonably priced and works great. I’m sure I could find another product that is cheaper, but this does the trick and is not much more. Great products. Thank you.

I feel like an idiot for buying this. This is pure baking soda, just marked up. From now on I'll just buy baking soda in bulk for a fraction of the cost. And to note, this is the same as their "Spa Up" product (sodium bicarbonate, aka baking soda).Easy Google instructions are as follows:"Add 1 tablespoon of baking soda to the hot tub for every 100 gallons of water it holds. For example, add 4 tablespoons of baking soda to a hot tub that holds 400 gallons of water. Turn on the hot tub jets and allow the water to circulate the baking soda for two to four hours. Retest the pH level of the water."
