The LENOX 30882-VB2 Vari-Bit Step Drill Bit - 1/2" - 1" has a patented two flute design which cuts fast, clean, round holes that are accurate and burr-free. The enhanced flute design also removes chips rapidly to ensure longer tool life. The split point on the tip of the Vari-Bit is designed for faster penetration and prevents walking. This is a great drill tool. I've used on aluminum and steel with oil lubricant. Cuts well. I don't have enough use to provide durability feedback.

This bit did a great job and I'd recommend it to anyone. Also, if you want to compare different brands, there is a YouTube video channel titled "Project Farm" look for the video on Step Drills, very solid testing methods.
