Wow! I can't believe how nicely this guitar body and neck were finished, and the neck fit perfectly into the body's neck pocket. For such a low price you can't beat this deal! I've built and modded many guitars and this one was the easiest and best quality I've ever used at such a low price. The hardware was basic quality, not terrible but obviously budget grade. The guitar played and sounded very good without any major adjustments but of course a full setup is highly recommended. I must say the neck was incredibly smooth and nicely finished, with a minimal satin finish on the back and a very nice fretboard.Buy this kit, you won't be sorry! Even if you upgrade the hardware, you can't find a better body and neck for this price!

First I'll give what I feel is the good. Guitar has some weight to it assembled unlike most kit guitars, neck needs very little to make nice, the connectors are helpful, but not necessary, fit for everything is pretty good. The bad: neck is very loose in the pocket, body has missing paint on the edges here and there, may have burned through during polishing before boxing up, there are some scratches that I'm not sure how they got there as it was wrapped well in the package, tuners are throw aways, bridge leaves a lot to be desired. It looks nice from 15 feet but up close it looks used. Overall, if you have a need to throw 120 bucks on something that doesn't bother you, dive right in. If you're a perfectionist, I'd stay far away. Maybe I got a bad one or a return (some wrapping was already torn when I opened it) but I don't think I'd buy again.Edit: Truss rod isn't keyed for the allen wrench, cannot adjust truss rod, tuners absolutely need to be replaced, overall not a good kit. Am returning. Stay away!!!!

I bought the black Telecaster kit. The body, neck, paint, and chrome are all good. No instructions. The tuners and strings are junk. The nut slots are way too shallow. And there were no pre-drilled holes for the string trees. Having said that, it looks fantastic and plays pretty good despite the high nut slots and crummy strings. Good nut slot files are expensive, so I'll be taking it to a shop to have that problem fixed. I'll be replacing the tuners and strings too. If you just want an cheap beginner guitar, I think you would be better off spending a few dollars more and getting one that's already built. For example, the Monoprice Cali classic is an extremely good value for the money. I know, because I bought one several months ago. You can even read my review here on Amazon. Cheers!

The packaging is well designed and compact. I like that it's not foam, but cardboard. A couple of small pieces were loose, but the rest was bagged. The guitar neck and body were in cloth. There was no apparent damage from shipping. This kit comes with two pickguards, which is an excellent touch. The chrome parts look good and many are covered with plastic film (like the pickguards). The screws and small items are mostly well sorted and packaged. There were no assembly instructions in the box, so I'm publishing a YouTube video to provide step-by-step instructions (Scuttle Productions channel).Pros: Nice finish/paint. It looks better than I expected. The neck is nicely finished and looks great. There were no high frets. The drilled holes mostly line up well, throughout. Assembly was easy, yet fun.Cons (less than ideal): the paint around the neck pocket chips VERY easily. I hardly touched it and it flaked off on BOTH SIDES, so I stabilized it with super glue to stop the flaking/chipping. The tuners are not very good--I upgraded. There were no screws for attaching the output jack plate to the body. Some of the finish around pre-drilled holes has too much clear coat, so the screws chip the paint. I drilled out the neck holes in just the body to ensure a proper and snug fit with the neck. The included strings are light (9s or even 8s), so I used my own 10s.Be aware that the string tree holes were not drilled, which is easy to do. No problem.OVERALL: the quality is better than I expected. The paint looks good. The kit is well thought-out. Great color choices. It compares to kits double the price.Well done, Leo Jaymz.

It’s a good kit, no doubt. Even just the body would be worth it, but this body, finished, with neck and everything else, it’s a great deal. I dispensed with the crappy ceramic pickups and electronics and went with a loaded Wilkinson Alnico 5 pick guard. Easy peasy sounds less sleazy. It was such an easy build and very playable right off the bat. I ordered a Fender bridge to replace what it came with, not that it’s not usable, but it’s not exactly a divebombing tremolo stock. I have some locking tuners I may swap out too, we’ll see. You can take this kit with a few modifications and have a really nice looking and sounding guitar, like way better than the Squier price that you pay for it. The new loaded pick guard fit perfectly, I didn’t even have to drill, but I did have to take off the neck to put it on. You can put this thing together in an hour.

I mean just wow, older player and have a lot of guitars, didn't have a sunburst so was itching to get one.1st, it's really good looking, finish was beautiful, neck was straight out of the box, no fret work was needed.2nd, it did need some work on the nut, im a amateur luthier, so wasn't a problem for me3rd, pickups are whatever, not horrible but not great, I changed the configuration to HSS on mine added a seymour duncan humbucker I had laying around.I did use electronics it came with, probably will replace in the futureFor 120 bucks, I am super impressed, will buy a tele model in the near future
