Even though my house is only 3 years new, they had the good ole reliable toggle switches.Flip it up or down = bulletproof & zzzzzz.So when I install my WeMo WiFi wall switch in a 4 switch gang, I had to make the other 3 into paddle Decora style also.I am by no means an experienced DIY-er or even homeowner but these were very simple to install after watching a couple youtube videos.Just remember to turn off the power at the right places & tested wires to make sure they weren't still hot.Then installed these 3 ways & wala = modern switches.Be forewarned again that this is a 3-way switch used for dual-pole wiring - i.e. when you have 2 switches to control one set of lights.Another tip is that when you strip the old wires - insert them into the terminal HOLES not wrap them around the terminals....less chance of things loosening up or causing shorts.While they aren't ultra quiet by any means, they aren't any noticeably louder than a regular flip switch that I replaced.These switches are great and work as advertised.And a couple of YouTube videos later, I was doing a $200 job that a professional electrician would do.-ps- the face plate is NOT included - so factor that cost into your budget.

There's not much to say about three way switches, except that it works like any other Decora rocker switch. And by that, I mean Leviton since Decora is their trademark for switches, outlets and escutcheon plates. This particular one is a quiet switch, and is relatively quiet. The completely quiet ones used a tube of mercury and are no longer legal.Leviton stands behind these with a two year warranty. They are easy to install, and like their other 15 amp switches, you can wire them with side terminals or by pushing the stripped ends of wires into the appropriate holes.The ones from Amazon did come in a plastic bag, as one reviewer pointed out. If you don't understand how three way switches work, and the wiring diagram at Leviton's website doesn't help you, then I'd recommend against changing switches on your own. Otherwise, you'd wire it just like the switch you are replacing. Otherwise, the bottom hole is used for the power coming in, or going out to the light, depending on which end the switch is being used.

I replaced old flip switches with the Leviton 3-gang decora wall plate, the Leviton single-pole motion detection switch, a Leviton single-pole decora rocker switch, and a Leviton 3-way multiple location rocker switch. All components matched perfectly.The 3-way light switch works great and the terminals and wires all lined up with the old switch.

I purchased the 5 pack to replace a generic brand I previously used several years ago. I did not realize what I purchased then-and the previous brand started failing. This product appears to be a higher quality. The quick connect is more smooth and releases the wire easier. One difference from other toggle switch brands, this one has a really small logo raised on the flat toggle so you can feel it at the bottom left. Annoying but not enough to keep me from using it.
