Sometimes I don't understand what people are talking about when they review a product. If I listen to most reviews I wouldn't have bought anything from Amazon. I don't know what people are trying to cut with this or how they used it but I have no experience in doing this and it worked perfectly. Cut a 3/4 hole in a pretty thick metal box, without the tool being damaged and the hole is clean. I don't recommend using a power tool with this. And faster sometimes is not better. If you're looking for an inexpensive way to punch a hole through some metal boxes this will work great, read the directions. Someone on here said it messed up after they cut stainless steel. Well the directions say do not use on stainless steel. Also you need to oil not with WD-40 but with oil after each use. Make sure everything is straight snug and go slowly to cut and you won't have any issues. And one more thing the size was perfect.

The holes made here are for the Outside Diameter (OD) for the "Trade Sizes" of US Electrical Conduit. For a US Conduit size of 1/2", the actual OD of the conduit is ~7/8" (0.875"). Similarly -US Conduit size of 3/4" is actually 1-3/32" (1.094") OD.US Conduit size of 1" is actually 1-11/32" (1.344") OD.US Conduit size of 1-1/4" is actually 1-11/16" (1.688") OD.The OD of the hole punches in this kit therefore are approximate to the actual (larger) Conduit size.I am adding a chart that provides the comparison to US Conduit OD sizes to both Greenlee Standard Knockout Punch Units (which is a well-known and reliable brand) and to these Lichamp punches.(Note that the Lichamp sizes are what I personally measured by hand with a micrometer and may not be as accurate were the measurements taken on better measurement machinery.) Note that a couple of the Lichamp Punch OD measurements are negative, but all measurements vary only slightly. In conclusion, for the low cost of this product, I found that it worked very well. This was for knockouts in electrical boxes. It is important that the material specifications into which the holes are made be followed. (I.e., "Mild Steel" and not stainless or heavier gauge.) If I were using such a tool on a frequent basis, I would consider a more expensive set, including hydraulic activation, but for occasional use, this product was satisfactory.

Very disappointed in the quality of this product I returned it to the manufacturer because I just felt that it wouldn’t do the job I wanted. I wanted it to poke punch holes. I got a better one at Harbor freight for half the price.

I needed to punch a 1.25†hole into my breaker panel for a conduit attachment. It worked fine. Was sharp enough and had a bearing to take the thrust load of pulling the punch into the die. I only successfully used it once. Not sure if it is sturdy enough for commercial everyday use. It probably is.

The design of this product makes it hard to pull the punch through the hole once the hole has been made. The back side of the punch should have remained thinner to make it easier to pull the punch through. As it is, it is very hard to get the punch out of the hole.

I tried to put a 3/4 conduit hole in 0.1" thick electrical cabinet. The threads failed. It had worked well in lighter duty cabinets for me in the past. It is rated up to 3.5mm steel panel. It does not work on the thicker gauge steel.

Creo es la herramienta más sencilla que he comprado , solo resistió para una perforación y fue basura , pero pues no puede pedir uno más por ese precio

I am a retired electrician who has used this type of kit many times. I used this product to enlarge the K/O holes in 2 electrical boxes. The 1/2" kit only made one hole (with great difficulty) after which the thread on the bolt was showing signs of wear. These boxes were standard electrical boxes. The kit can no longer be used on the 1/2" punch which is the most common item.

The punches work well.. but the small one has a design flaw.. least I can't figure out why they made it the way they did.. the draw bolt has a thinner part in the middle.. and you need to ensure the backer is not on this area, when you are tightening as it is off center so doesn't cut right.. the end of the bolt is larger and that backer doesn't fit there either.. so you need to carefully, hold it against a tapered part.. very weird.. but if you do it right no issues.. only reason for not 5 stars.. also the slug busting design of other brands sure makes getting the garbage out easy.. on the small one here the inside is larger than the cut point so the slug has to be pulled out with pliers.. again.. whole kit costs what other charge just for the small cutter.. if you are using all day every day.. don't buy this.. but if you want for the odd project.. great little package..
