These are (so far) excellent rubber gaskets formed around a rigid steel shim. We all know early Chevy small block heads suck where the valve cover gaskets seal. These gaskets held their form perfectly.

Gaskets were installed and leaked severely on the first start up. Ended up having to buy another set from parts store!

I was skeptical at first but I knew I was going to have to pull valve covers and reinstall to adjust valves. I had already had bad experiences with leaking on two different name brand valve cover gaskets. I was shocked and amazed how well these did. There was no leakage. I ordered another set because need to go back and readjust the valves. For the price it is better to replace than to try and reuse.
