We have 4 cats ranging from a 21 lb Maine Coon to a tiny 6 lb 9 month old rescue. Needless to say we do a lot of kitty litter box scooping. With 4 cats and 4 cat pans we bought 4 of the LitterLocker II canisters.Construction is good. The bag cartridge is easy to use and just drops into the top of the canister. The opening in the top is large enough and sloped to catch the litter refuse quickly and easily. The scoop and scoop holder on the site makes managing the litter clean up very convenient.Changing the bag when full is easy. The top opens all the way so that the top half of the container is on the floor leaving the inside of both halves easily available and use. The cutting tool is part of the structure and conveniently placed so it's very easy to take the top of the filled bag and run it though the cutter so that you can tie a knot in the used portion of the bag and remove it. Then pull down a portion of bag from the cartridge in the top portion, tie a knot in the bottom of that piece and close the lid. When putting large, or light, amounts of litter refuse into the bag it sometimes won't pass through to the lower bag when the Spring Loaded Barrier is opened. I've found it use full to close the lid, place my hand on the lid and give it a quick rock back and forth with the Spring loaded Barrier still opened. That does the trick. Two things that we have found helpful to make this process even easier. 1. With a new bag, after it is in place, open the lid of the container and also the spring loaded shelf that locks the used litter away in the bag. Once open push down the newly tied off bag all the way to the bottom of the container. This stops the first couple of litter contributions from sticking half way down the bag which leaves a length of bag unused at the bottom. If you take this quick step after setting up a new bag you won't waste any length of bag from the cartridge. Also, when using the Spring Loaded Barrier to allow the the newly deposited used litter to go to the bottom of the bag make sure you don't push down the "unlocking tab" with your thumb. Both my husband and I did it this way when we first got this container and had to struggle to get our thumbs released. Everyone is different so do some "testing" to see how best that Unlocking Tab will work for you. The barrier does a REALLY GOOD job and keeping the used litter locked away and containing the odor. The only thing that I would recommend to make this better is a handle. The only "handle" like structure is the "pull out handle" for the Spring-loaded Barrier. You can use this but I'm concerned that using it as a handle will wear out the mechanism faster. An indented handle in the back of the top lid would be very helpful for moving this LitterLocker from one pan to the next.Overall this Litter canister is good quality and is the best that we have found so far.

I have two Himalayan kittycats and have REALLY small apartment and I try to scoop their litter box twice a day. I was a little tired of smelling poop in my kitchen trash can so I gave this a try. For the price I figured it wasn't much to lose and I am very glad I did try it. It's a pretty simple design and the process is straightforward and convenient. Basically it's like a designated poop trash can like people have for baby diapers and the the little drawer thing on the front is on a tension spring and keeps the bag sealed until you get ready to empty the holding bag. When you get started, you have to tie off the bottom of the poop sack then tie off the top when you replace the old bag for the new, or draw a new bag down I suppose would be more accurate. It's like you have a very long sock that you keep cutting and tying off. Anyway, I grabbed a bag of zip ties for a buck or two and plan to just use those to tie off the old and new section at the same time, then just cut between the two. I also like that I don't have to try to hold a plastic bag open and not spill litter all of the floor too. The circular bag-sock is always wide open so the scooping process goes much quicker plus I can stop hoarding plastic bags.No more smelling poop while cooking dinner! I feel like the product is priced very well and Big Al's shipped it quickly and it was packaged very well, lots of padding.

First..I've not seen this for sale at $15 like some other reviews state. But I know Amazon likes to change the prices constantly, and I've had that issue with kitty litter before (and laundry soap), so I don't doubt it.However, when at the normal price of 6/7$, I stocked up on them, with a note in the back of my head on the cheaper diaper version working if Amazon ever ups the price! As for the product itself.. LOVE! I normally buy dog poop bags and throw them in the garbage can, which stinks the can up and kills you with odor when you throw other stuff away...or I have to take it to the trash chute in my building. Doing this 2-3 times a day isn't fun.I have two cats, who are monster pee-ers, leaving boulders of clumped litter morning and night. It takes a lot of room in the bags, both individual dog poop bags and the litter locker. I get a better value with the litter locker though. Plus the convenience factor. It took me 2 1/2 weeks to fill one bag in the bottom of the locker, with two cats and huuuuge clumps everyday from each. The bag was seriously like 12 pounds when I took it to the trash, both awesome and scary at the same time. And no smell what-so-ever while using this litter locker once it is in the bottom of the container. These bags are awesome! It didn't even smell much when I dumped the first bag with 2 1/2 weeks worth of two cat's crap. I was expecting it to smell more since it sat so long in the bag, but nope!I don't understand how one litter locker bag ring that lasts a whole month for two cats would be considered a bad deal..for me it isn't! The other reviewers saying it is a waste and doesn't last long at all...are they using it correctly? Are they wasting too much to tie knots in the bag?? Seems to me maybe they are the type that's never happy or something, because it holds a ton of crap, literally!!

These are pretty expensive, but the litter locker refills are hard to find these days, and they really control the smell. Very good quality. If you can afford them, I would recommend.
