I live in Vegas so I was not surprised when I opened the package and the moss was thirsty. I had some moistened soil prepped for it days prior in a plastic bucket and once I got the moss in there, I sprayed it with misty water and sealed it with cling wrap. After a few days in that environment, the moss was happy and my terrarium's were finally ready to receive the moss. It is evident that I went a little nuts with the dwarf pearl weed and that is because the moss is an amazing moisture holder. Although I sort of understand the price, I genuinely think I could have gotten another square of it for the price. I must be really cheap. My only gripe is that the shipping took an extremely long time and I got antsy and bought another brand after this purchase and it arrived before this did. Overall, Extremely happy with the product and no problems. bug free, nothing beyond the ability to revive. Would purchase again

This product arrived securely packaged and intact. The plants survived and were ready for use right out of the box.I found that there was some random debris like pine needles and other seeds that had been gathered with the moss. It appears that it was probably collected in a forest setting and then sent out for delivery. The moss appeared to be in good health and good size clumps of different types. The size of the moss was about 7"x4".I first transferred the moss to a covered container, sprayed it down, and put it under a timed light. After about 1 week the moss seemed to be responding well and I was able to add it to my terrarium.Would recommend to give this product a try if you are looking for additions to your terrarium.

This BARELY filled a couple of spots in two little 1-gal terrariums. Additionally, about 1/4 was already brown and dying or dead. Developed fungus and had to cut it out.Not super pleased with these and I probably would look for another brand.

I have been looking for live moss for my terrariums, and I found Tin Roof moss assortment. I just received my moss and it came alive and moist, with good packaging in a plain plastic bag.I was thrilled when I opened up the package, as I was thinking that I may get preserved moss that was not alive, but look at the pictures, that is some beautiful moss!I have been studying the growth habits of mosses and ferns in Botany. Mosses don’t have true roots, they have rhizomes which branch out laterally and grow superficially in the soil, without growing tall they don’t take up much water with their rhizomes that’s why they need to be kept in a moist/ humid environment, they absorb water through their leaves through thorough misting with water.I recommend using distilled water as you don’t want to add chemicals that are in the tap water in a closed system like a terrarium. If you need clean well grown moss for your terrarium, I would recommend this item. This is not the “fairy” moss that is dry and sometimes dyed green, this is living moss.I highly recommend this for your indoor growing needs.
