This extra long fork works exactly as expected. Really, such a fork should be included with the shoulder rests it is intended for, as it is common knowledge that people vary widely in their physiques. I wish I had run across this item sooner.

These work great, and now my neck pain is finally gone! Standard height was just not good for me, but this fixed the problem. Wish I knew that these existed a long time ago!

The gripping is too loose, it can not hold violin firmly.

The standard shoulder rest has bothered me for quite some time and it’s not very comfortable for me to use, this is a welcome change! I’m actually surprised just how much longer these are over the standard. They have had no issues gripping my violins and it really helps me be more comfortable in use. I’ve had issues with inexpensive shoulder rests with very hard rubber not being able to grip, not the case here. The rubber sleeves for the threads are great and keep your finish safe. I also think the price is very worth it at about twenty bucks.

Having the extra long fork to put on the shoulder rests makes it more comfortable to play the violin. My daughter just started violin lessons in school. She likes this better than the standard ones. They grip fine on the violin. I like having the rubber sleeves to protect the violin and bow.

Every violinist who uses a shoulder rest has confronted the trade off of comfort versus optimal instrument position. I prefer a relatively shallow angle of the violin body to the ground and have the proverbial box full of various rests I’ve tried (and tossed) over the years.The Wolf Forte Primo allows me to bend and twist it to fit comfortably while providing “almost, but not quite†the height in front that I want. I could probably squeeze out that fraction more, if I’m willing to risk the fork screw falling out, which happened more than once.I’ve never been a fan of home brew rest workarounds and wished someone made an extra long fork with a 0.15 inch diameter screw that would fit my Primo.Wish granted. This fork gives me more height than I need, so I can dial down the Primo’s coarse adjustment thread and stop worrying it would fall out.While this extra long fork solves my fundamental height problem two things are less than ideal, but by no means deal breakers: The screw threads easily with a tiny amount of play, meaning it easily swings around, and over time putting it on/taking it off will likely vary the height and require tweaking. I found that cutting the sleeve to fit snugly minimizes excess motion.The fork itself is hard rubberized plastic, similar to that used on many rests other than the Wolf - which uses soft rubber feet, that I’m used to. Neither in my opinion is a hazard to the instrument (provided you don’t fit the rest too tightly). But for consistency, I may end up replacing the other fork.You get two extra long forks and three pieces of 1 1/2 inch sleeve to trim to fit.

If you order the Fesley 3/4-4/4 violin shoulder rest, it has a low profile and is not very adjustable, height-wise. These extenders make the Fesley shoulder rest much taller, if that is what you want. By themselves, of course, these forks don’t serve any purpose. So, if you want height in your Fesley shoulder rest, you should order these along with it. They come with some rubber sleeves to cover the brass-colored screws that are used to attach them to the shoulder rest.
