I originally wanted these for an extension for our light over the stair way. It is a little darker than we want it to be and thought that if I brought the light source down a little it would be better. The light is the standard builder grade junk that all the houses start out with in this community. It did however fit the standard size 10mm rods and should fit most lights on the market today. I installed one rod and then two and it still did not have as much light as I would like. I think I will just upgrade the fixture for LED and be done with it. However, all is not lost with these rods as I was able to use them for upper rails on a cabinet I was building for a friend's office. The color worked perfect accenting the dark walnut stained wood. I also used them for handles on some TV trays I made for Christmas presents.These are heavy duty and sturdy. The threads are all clean and easy to tighten up. They were easy to cut with a hand wheel type pipe tube cutter. To me the color is more gold than brass, even though that is a fine line.If you have a light that you need an extension rod for these will more than likely be what you need. If you are a little creative, you can find other things to use the extra rods for....

This works well with the standard US lamp threaded tubing, pipes and nuts for lamp extensions.

I ordered the wrong size :'(. Unfortunately these extension rods won't work for me. But they are very nice rods!

These are thick, heavy duty rods with good threads and nice connectors.
