After reading many reviews about the cheaper battery operated music stand lights ($25-40) that were not bright enough and with short battery life and poor construction, I decided to purchase this Lotus Pro 6 and was completely satisfied.First of all it is plenty bright and easily illuminate 2 full pages of music. There are 3 brightness settings - the highest could almost be too bright in some situations, the middle is handy, and the lowest still has some utility.Another great feature, the light does not dim as the battery is expended - it stays at full brightness until the battery is exhausted and then just goes dark. The excellent lithium battery will also run at full brightness for about 4 hours on a full charge. There are 3 indicator lights to show battery charge remaining. And the light can be run off plug-in power while the battery is charging or already full. The lamp appears solidly built, has a strong clip to attach to the stand, the goose-neck is rugged and stays where you position it, and the lamp head is very unobtrusive. I was surprised how compact and light-weight the whole unit is.I was tempted by the Aria models, which are the brightest stand lights available. Might have purchased one of those if I was only using at home. They are much larger and heavier, so not quite as easy to carry around. I play outside the house in a community band, for example, and there are reports that the housing can interfere with being able to see the conductor. These good quality lamps are kind of expensive, but you really do get what you pay for here. You can waste money on cheap ineffective lights that aren't bright enough, won't stay on long enough, and break too soon, or go right to a quality model that both functions and lasts.

I endorse the Lotus Light wholeheartedly. I am grateful to have finally found a light that really does the job. I was immediately struck by how much light it produces and how evenly it lights my music. I've used my light for several months now and it is so nice to not have batteries or a cord to deal with. It works for many hours on a single charge without interruption or dimming, which is plenty of power for a rehearsal and a performance. Everybody that sees it is impressed and I highly recommend it. I like the compact design, the secure clamp and also appreciate that it is made right here in Minnesota.

You can get cheaper lights for your stand, but by using high tech (Cree) LED bulbs this light provides a bright and even light over the page. I tend to use it on high, so it does need to be recharged from time to time, as would be expected. It stays firmly on the stand. It comes with a neoprene gig bag and is easy to carry. Because it uses a goose neck, it doesn't always lie perfectly flat. I just bought one as a gift for a musician friend.

These are good for music stands and for emergency lighting, too. The direction of the lamp is easy to adjust, and the clip keeps it firmly in place. Even the dimmest setting provides a lot of light. We always keep the battery charged so that we can use this lamp during power outages.

Everyone in my community orchestra has one now! They are a perfect size, elegant and inconspicuous during a concert, and give just the right amount of light for your music! I think they are the gold standard for music stand lights! They fit the Peak and the Nilton Magic stands perfectly!!

It was a good light - until the Rechargeable Lithium Polymer Battery started to leak. Watch for corrosion around the screw heads at the top and bottom of the box, and don't get it near you clothes or your instrument. The workaround is to remove the top screw and unplug the battery and order a new one from Amazon - uxcell Power Supply DC 3.7V 2800mAh 623360 Li-ion Rechargeable Lithium Polymer Li-Po Battery (about $11.00 USD). Until the new battery comes you can still use the light with the recharging power supply. Also, before installing the new battery, clean up the corrosion with steel wool, 'cause, damn!

This is the 3rd rechargeable battery powered standvlight I've bought. All of the other, lower cost ones broke after little use or the batteries died. I got one for my wife to use and it worked so well, I got a second for me. Not cheap, but cheap breaks, so that's even worse. This is the one to buy.
