Some people have complained of the slicer's flimsiness, breakage of the plastic base and cutting wires, but I had no problem after as of now one use.I think the key is to limit use to soft products like Spam and to slice very, very slowly until completely cut. I did this, and had no problem with either of the complaints previously mentioned.It worked very well, cutting identical slices of Spam (of course the end pieces will be slightly thinner and smaller due to the shape of the block of meat).To me anyway, the product lives up to its name and allows the user to avoid those odd slices.I also like that it cuts 12 slices instead of 9-11 thicker slices like other slicers.I recommend it. Just don't force it or use block cheese, which is harder than Spam.Washes easily.

The wires are a little more loose than I anticipated, so the slices are not perfect... depending on where they land, there is 1-2mm of variability between each wire. Not the worst thing in the world, especially for me... but if I were expecting to use this for slicing cheese or other foods to make a fancy-pretty spread, I would get frustrated with the results pretty quick. - I like my spam slices on the thin side... so I make the first cut... reset... move the slices over just a smidge... then slice again. That works pretty good for the end result I wanted. - I'd buy it again (assuming it doesn't fail in the first couple years of use).

Although it LOOKS a little on the flimsy side, this does do the job of automatically slicing a tin of Spam or corned beef into slices of a uniform 1/4" or so thickness. Older shoppers may recall the ORIGINAL versions of this gizmo from 45 or so years back were METAL if memory serves correctly. Should hold up if you apply steady even pressure when slicing and NOT to be used on corned beef or Spam that might still be frozen.

This slicer works perfectly. It’s a little more expensive than the other slicers but it cuts spam in a nice narrow slice. I turn and slice again and again for perfect dices for fried rice. Make the job go by quickly and the cubes are the best size. Highly recommend!

Reposting my review. After I gave the item 1-star I was immediately contacted by seller and was offered a replacement for the defective slicer originally received. Bohnie was very proactive to send me a replacement slicer and she certainly went above and beyond to make sure the I (the customer) was satisfied with the product.Will definitely buy from seller again and the replacement slicer was perfect. Thank you Bohnie!!Previous Review: Purchased this slicer and on the very first use to slice a can of spam one of the wires broke. Didn't do anything out of the norm as when I pressed down one of the wires snapped. Cheap product.

I got this to slice Spam. After only the third use the wires are so stretched that they cannot slice properly or completely. I expected better from this product. I did not use excessive force or try to slice super quickly and the wires are still so out of shape that they are unusable. The frame is fine but the wires are super weak and have no way to increase the tension on them. Overall I would not recommend this product.
