This is not a type of fastener that you typically find at the local hardware store. Even if they do have it it is significantly cheaper on Amazon. And the quality is perfect.Stainless steel, Nylon locking metric hex nuts. Enough said.

Being over 50 yrs. old, a LOT of the fasteners for my bike are rusty. Some not so bad, but the original Cad Plating wasn't that shiny to begin with. I had to decide whether to invest in a DIY Re-plating kit from someone like Caswell (also on Amazon) OR....replace what I can with Stainless washers and nuts. They won't be as "shiny" as the Chrome parts that were originally on the bike, but those faired pretty well in the aging process. It's the rest of the more mundane fasteners that need help. Either way, these S.S. fasteners I bought on Amazon (nuts AND flats....and NO Lock washers that will mar my fresh paint job, as these are Nyloks) I will run these over my polishing wheels to shine them up as much as possible and they'll look GREAT. One last thought, buying Stainless fasteners one at a time at my local Hardware store would cost FAR more than buying 20 of these nuts from under $10!

These are super inexpensive, and there are some QC issues with a few of the nuts. Some of them are slightly deformed, or the nylon is not fitted well into the nut. It's easy to check whether the nut is fine before using though, and the vast majority of them are fine. Personally, I'm OK with just tossing out the bad ones but if you're needing high quality nuts I would suggest looking elsewhere.
