I just need cheap thumb screws and these fit the bill. 95% of the time, they work great. But in a pack of 50 I'll find 3 or 4 where the threads aren't cut well and they bind and threaten to cross thread my brass inserts. I've verified that it's an issue with these thumb screws and NOT the threaded inserts because using a different thumb screw usually resolves this issue. And trying the faulty thumb screw on a different insert results in the same binding.Quality control is questionable but can't complain too much for the price.

The M4 12mm knurled screws worked for what I needed. I have an Insignia TV from Best Buy that takes a Vesa mount bracket and uses the M4 size. The Knurled Thumb Screws worked fine.

As another reviewer noted, most of the caps have flashing on them. For the price I might overlook the unsightly appearance but these aren't the stated size either - rendering them unusable since an actual 8mm length was needed. The detail indicate 8mm thread, but the actual thread length varied with some just over 7mm as seen in the image and measured with a digital caliper.

There is a lot of flash, and no standoff at all, unlike most knobs. If you are going to be using it a lot, not a good choice. If you want it for appearance, you will have to trim off the flash.
