Just had a vinyl fence put in but the gate is wide and tends to sag. Put one set on the gate and 1 set on the post that has the gate hinges. Took all of the sag out.

I have used these for tensioning wire for string lights outside. They really are overkill for that purpose. They are very heavy duty suitable for shades that potentially have heavy wind loading.

A reasonably priced set of (2) 304 stainless turnbuckles. These appear to be not only stainless, but coated as well. They are a little thin in cross section and I'm not sure how much load a soft stainless turnbuckle will carry, but these do everything I need. If I'm loading big stuff on a trailer I would probably opt for something a little more heavy duty (and steel) but for my typical turnbuckle needs around the shop these will not only work just fine, but they should never rust away either. I removed the threaded eyes and they screwed out nicely (many types will not). I always install a single nut just to make sure these stay locked down and there was no problems screwing a standard M8 nut on the eye threads. I feel like these are closer to a light to medium duty turnbuckle but they are just fine in that arena. The stainless construction is really what sold me.

These turnbuckles work as they should, but they're not of the highest quality. They are a little warped on one side of the turnbuckle where they evidently weld them together. It may not affect their strength but it doesn't instill a sense of quality worksmanship.

These come nicely packaged in a reusable plastic case, although my case was already busted on the end. Not a big deal because I didn’t expect the case and not the reason for two stars. The problem is both of my wire tensioners came already warped, one worse than the other. Not what I would expect at this price point. They should still work for my purpose, but these almost seem like factory seconds.

This is a heavy-duty pair of turnbuckles with a good dark finish that can be used in a number of applications. I’m planning on using them to secure wire cable for an expansion of my mushroom garden – which entails placing a few dozen lengths of log up at an angle so they can weather and fruit. I’ve used smaller dimension turnbuckles and had issues with supporting the weight, I have no doubt these will perform well. They’re easy to use and have a good range that should enable me to apply the proper tension. While I can find turnbuckles locally, I couldn’t find any in this size. I do think the price is on the high end, but worth it given the lack of available options at my local hardware stores.

These turnbuckles are made of stainless steel and should last well, although they could have been manufactured better; the screws don’t align.They are very adequate for use with my large sun sail and have a good range of travel - about 4†- to allow good tensioning.The screws are a little loose in the body threads and I did find they unwind in gusty wind conditions.This is easily prevented with a little locking wire (which is always a good measure with high winds).

My reason for 4 stars is that the metal is thinner on the sides compared to some I have seen in the home improvement store. Also why did they put a black coating on it since it’s stainless? My own personal preference would be shiny silver. On the plus side this is 304 stainless steel. I am planning to use this for a sunshade to keep it tight. You can also use this for gates, clotheslines and other things that you want to keep the wire or rope tight. As you can see from the picture you have 4 inches of adjustment. I have used galvanized turnbuckles before and after a few years they look awful. I’m pleased with this.

Used it to suspend bunk bed from the ceiling of my trailer build. Very sturdy.
