To get this over with, the only slight complaint is is the the red rca plugs are not labeled video and audio. You have to infer which from the order of cables coming out of converter. Or just use trial and error. Red is the only color on two cables. And the on-off slide switch is tiny. Otherwise everything works well. Great for use connecting older VCRs or DVD players without hdmi sockets to new TV that have only hdmi sockets. HDMI output is as good as the RGB output to a TV or home theater amp with RGB connectors. That's all you can expect. The VHS signal is what it is. The converter does not upscale resolution, but if you want to an upscaling TV or Amp can use this converter output. The plugs and sockets on converter and included cables seem good quality. RCA plugs grip sockets on well. Plugs insert smoothly into hdmi and mini usb sockets. Sockets hold plugs firmly. Plastic converter body seems solid. I tested using a panasonic VHS-DVD combo unit that has RGB output. If HDMI connection seems unstable on power up, check that the plugs are all fully in, then turn the converter off then back on using the converter power switch. This happened rarely and only at power up. I suspect it involved the order in which equipment was turned on. And could depend on the specific deck and TV used. Once I had stable connection I never lost it later.

I connected it to my DVD player and it worked as I expected. What else to say?

This is exactly what I expected it would be high quality. I received it a day earlier than expected. I would recommend this product and sell to everyone I know.

This was purchased to allow my no longer available Avermedia game capture device to display to TV monitors that no longer have YPbPr ports for video input. It works perfectly giving a full 1080i resolution on my previously recorded files. The short cable design allowed me to remove a huge bundle of cables and clean up the installation vs the old 8 foot long male to male YPbPr cable.

Easy to connect, but only half worked. I used it to connect a vhs/dvd combination player to my new “smart†tv. The vhs side worked fine but the dvd signal failed to transmit. I tried both connecting to hdmi2 on the tv (only vhs worked) and going through the cable box (neither worked)I returned the unit as defectiÃve. I don’t know whether my unit was defective or if this is a fundamental design flaw. If you get one, try it immediately. The return/refund was easy.

If you thing of it, someone else had. I have an old VCR that still works and needed to hook it to a HDMI port on new TV. Works fine.Recommended.

I have an old Samsung DVD-VR330 DVD recorder with integrated VHS unit. to allow copying between DVDs and VHS videos. I have been using it for many years, with the connection to a plasma HDTV being through the component video output. I bought a new TV which doesn't have component video input, so I needed a component video to HDMI converter. This unit displays the power-up screen and the setup screens of the DVD player perfectly, but once I start playing a DVD the display is scrambled, like it can't sync on the horizontal sync signal properly. Luckily, I found a setting on the DVD player which sets it to progressive scan mode. Once I changed that, the picture displays perfectly.

Used this converter to connect a DVD/VCR to a 2024 Sony OLED tv which did not have RCA connections, just HDMI. Everything synced right up and worked normally.
