This jacket is fluffy and insulates heat very well. I got it for my 9 year old and he's been happy with it as the cold weather has been rolling in. The only complaint I have is that it feels a bit like plastic, but it does what it needs to do and he looks good in it. He personally likes the pockets and the furry hood.

I love this jacket! It is really well made. It is solid, sturdy, and everything I'd look for in a winter coat. It looks so warm and cozy, I wish it came in my size!That said, my grandson won't wear it. Maybe it's just a regional thing, and not all across the USA - but older boys will not wear hoods, and they will not wear hoods with fur on them. They seem to feel that hoods are sissy and fur is for girls. And if you look at the boy modeling the coat, doesn't he look like he's saying, "Mom, do I really have to wear this dumb coat?"I got my grandson to smile by telling him he didn't have to wear it again. Which is too bad - it really is a great coat! But his younger sister can wear it in a year or two.As far as fit, I really expected this coat to be a bit too big. My grandson wears a 10, and I ordered a 12. The coat just exactly fits now, and in a year the sleeves would be too short. However, I didn't mark it as "fits small" because, I don't know if my grandson just hit a growth spurt and I haven't caught up yet! Maybe he really does need to wear a 12 now!I would recommend that if you want to buy this coat for a boy older than six, to show him the picture and ask him if he would like it. Or go to your school's playground and see if any other boys are wearing coats with hoods! That will let you know what's cool and not cool in your area.Otherwise, the coat is solid and I really like it. I would order from this company again.

I recently got this hooded parka for my son and he LOVES it. We needed and exceptionally warm coat for him this winter and chose this one because of the thickness and the sherpa lining.The other day he wore it in 30°F weather and said he was actually "too warm"! This is perfect as in Minnesota the temperatures get pretty frigid up here so we need heavy coats to keep us toasty in the winter. I really like the length of the coat as it extends down to about mid-thigh providing added protection. I chose a size 13-14 (he typically wears 14-16) for my son, who stands at 5 feet and weighs 105 lbs. It is a slightly snug fit, as we generally prefer our jackets a bit roomier, but it remains comfortable and should last him throughout the season.He chose the yellow color jacket and really likes how vibrant the shade is. He also is particularly fond of the ample pocket space, which he finds handy for his belongings. As for the hood, while my son would have preferred a detachable one, I'm relieved it's fixed to eliminate the worry of him misplacing it.This is going to be a great comfy coat for him this winter and I will be less concerned about him having to stand out in the cold whether he's waiting for his bus or outside at school. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a reliable and warm winter coat.

Love the yellow of this coat! It is paler than advertised, but it's still a good looking coat. It's very thick and warm which is very reassuring. It runs true to size, so if you want to put your boy in thick sweaters and layers, I'd recommend sizing up. The hood covers the head well; the fur may need a little reviving upon opening. All the zippers function well, as do the snaps. Very please overall with this coat, I highly recommend it.

This is a nice winter jacket. I ordered the yellow jacket and absolutely love the color. All the pockets are nice. I like that it both zips and has snaps in the front. The zippers and snaps are good quality, not great, but I think they will last. For the price the hood should be removable and maybe even the liner to give more options for different seasons. Overall, I’d say it’s a cute, decently made jacket that is a bit overpriced.
