Already broke a wire due to my own stupidity. Went to put a new wire on and the extra ones that were sent with the new cheese slicer do not fit. They are too short.

So far this slicer works as well as my previous one. There is one small area on an edge that was not smoothed, but it isn’t in a place that interferes with the units slicing. I don’t slice hard cheese often but the wire seems to be holding up well and there is a spare wire if needed.

Should have paid attention to the reviews. Right out of the box, the wore is placed almost halfway into the board. You are forced to use smaller wedges or find a way to place anything larger. Worked ok on a softer mozzarella, but the first time I cut a sharp cheddar the wire bent out of shape badly. Fresh cheddar is not that hard! Tried fixing it, it was still too loose to use effectively. Didnt bother using the replacement wires since it seems I would just be dealing with the same issue agian. Disappointed, I've been looking for something like this for quite a while. Thankfully it was still in the return window.

It is attractive, but the third time I used it, the apparatus around the handle & wire came apart and there is no way to put it back together properly with enough tension to use it again. Nice looking otherwise though.

This cheese cutter looks great. The marble is honed nicely and is very smooth. The handle matches the marble nicely as well. You will definitely need a scrub brush to clean it because cheese can get caught in the crack where the wire slides in to. The wire is not very strong and there are spares that are included with the cutter. I was cutting cheddar cheese and the wire snapped after a few slices. The replacement wire has lasted a lot longer. I had expected the stone to be very solid like a countertop but the marble is soft and if you cut on it using a knife, you will see the knife strokes. Overall this is a very nice cheese cutter and does what it is supposed to do.

This is replacing an old one my husband bought at a silent auction (because the wire finally broke) and did not know you could get replacement wires. I try to use it but I am left handed, awkward for me. Looks nice with the marble base and so we leave it on the counter. It works very well.

Good quality. Stable cutting surface. Would have been 5star but i cut summer sausage on the board with a knife and it left a cut mark.

Strings are very poor quality. There are 5 extra provided. I used 3 for 1 month. My previous cheese slice i used 1 string for 2 years.
