The material and build quality on this best is excellent - the fabric has a nice sheen & weight to it, and is sewn well. It feels like a silk vest that might come with a higher-end rental tux, which is a high complement, because for the price I was expecting something flimsy and basically disposable, like what you’d get from a fly-by-night Halloween store. The bowtie is just as good as the vest.I highly recommend this vest. It’ll be perfect for the Mardi Gras masquerade party I need it for!Note that it runs about a half size small…I normally wear size L, but based on other reviews I bought a size XL and it’s very slightly loose on me. Luckily it has a tie on the back that’ll let me adjust it to fit.

Living in a location where Mardi Gras is highly celebrated, I needed an outfit for various parties and balls during the season. This Mardi Gras vest kit gave me a nice outfit to wear that others would not scoff at. The vest itself is made of a fine polyester and is sown well on the seams. It has three pockets on the front and an adjustment ribbon on the back. The pre-tied bowtie is made from the same material and has a simple hook and adjust strap to hold it in place. The polyester handkerchief is a vibrant gold color and much too pretty to be used as a real handkerchief. The mask is okay. I think the cutout for the nose could be done better as it rests far down my nose, but it is comfortable to wear with its inner felt lining.Many times at the party stores I see outfits that are made for a one time use. This vest, bow tie and handkerchief are made fairly well. I would rate the quality of the vest and bowtie as good as some of the suit vests I have.In the description it says, "Pls note that any formal vest requires tailoring for a perfect fit." that is the case for me. I am a small size, but this vest started at a medium. So for this vest to fit better, I had the sides taken in to fit my smaller frame. Also after wearing the vest for a short time one of the bottom buttons was coming off, so my tailor re-secured all the buttons, just to make sure they were on well. The vest did come with an extra button just in case I had lost one.So If you want to look good on Fat Tuesday or that carnival ball. I do recommend using this Regenboog Mardi Gras Vest Kit as a starter.
