SLOW PHOS Slowly Dissolving Polyphosphate Beads Filter Media
Note: Due to the nature of the material, Siliphos balls may crack into shards during shipping. Shards can still be used as normal, and may allow you to squeeze a bit more material into a filter housing.
Hard water is common to 85% of the north American cities and affects both those with city water and well water Hard water is caused by the presence of calcium and magnesium minerals in the water. When it is not treated, these natural minerals can be "sticky" as they encounter stress in the house, such as temperature change, pressure, or turbulence. This sticky mineral will form hard water stains on counter tops and shower walls, and will affect the way the soap lathers.
Hard water problems are even worse in areas where you can't see them. Hard water build-up will form inside of pipes, on the heating coil or element in your water heater, inside shower heads and faucets, and in other areas that can't be seen or cleaned. These deposits will start to clog faucets, filters, and pipes.
Water heaters and other water-using appliances will exhibit hard water problems such as a lessening in water flow, and will require repair or replacement. Hard water scale build-up will also increase energy usage in appliances, can cause them to fail prematurely.

Siliphos is great for lessening and stopping scale build up in in a wide range of applications including:

- Vending Machines Food Service Equipment
Normally a concentration of Siliphos at threshold levels of 0.5-5.0 ppm Polyphosphate will inhibit scale and corrosion. Use 5.0 to 10.0 pounds of beads per filter. The filter should be placed in an area where there is good water flow and should only be used with cold water.

The spheres look the same as the old brand I used. They dissolve at about the same rate. So my assumption is this is a legit product. How I can actually verify that, I don't know. Over time if I see hard water scale buildup then it probably isn't, but that will take some time.

This stuff is fantastic. NO more salt and regenerating all the time. Depending upon how hard the water is in area they last about a year. Now i travel a lot around the country and it is very much worth it. Virtually all water spots are gone! Not much build up of scale if any. If you have a tankless hot water heater this for you.

I pick up 10 pound last year. Have in final stage a 4.5x20 (5 pounds)after six months replaced with the 2nd 5 pounds I had. To be honest I could not tell any difference. Same scaling in my home and any water tests ran showed no difference. They don't look any different after 6 month. Now with them removed I can not tell anythings changed. My belief is this is a snake oil type of thing. save the now $200 a year and just condition another way

Seems legit. Opened the package and add a few to the filter system (container within the filter device.) Only issue, the nag does not reseal. I had to grab a decent sandwich bag due to the weight and size of this product packaging.Otherwise, would have been 5 stars.
