I was having huge temperature swings on my Jim Bowie wifi model, about 8 years old. I contacted GMG via the app, they suggested changing out the thermal sensor, very easy to do, watched the youtube video and replaced it in about 20 minutes. Just finished a cook of baby back ribs. Temp stayed solid the whole cook. Temperature I set stayed right on that temperature. For the price, this is a bargain, made my JB work new again. Fresh pellets also make a big difference. Using pellets that have been in the hopper for a while will also make for temp swings due to the pellet’s absorbing moisture.
