This is awesome. It is a great quality plastic with a smooth finish and is well made. The wells are easy to access and when I spray down the paints they stay nice and juicy because the angle is perfect. The removable mixing palette comes out easily and snaps securely back into place. The latch closes firmly with a satisfying grip. Unless you fill this up with water and try to carry it around, it keeps the paints from leaking. I bought a blue one, then a yellow one, and am doing everything in my power to rationalize buying more.If you like to pack up your paints and bring them on trips for safe and secure transport, get this palette. It if you just like having nice things. This is a gem.

I needed a palette with many wells. Not many have 33 wells as this one does, and this is by far the least expensive of those bigger palettes. It's sturdy and looks great. It doesn't leak per se, but if I close it up and transport it before all the paint in all the wells has dried, I have to keep it upright and level or liquid paint from one well will slosh into other wells. I like this one so much I'm considering getting a second one for my other colors.

I wanted a palette that I could keep my watercolors in one spot. I didn’t get this as a “stay wet” as I expect and want the paints to dry. The wells are perfectly sized and angles for easy access. Even have 9 extra spots for personalized colors as this has 33 wells and the set o got from Meeden has 24 colors.

I just started using this palette . I’m a beginner and I don’t want to spend a lot of money at this point. I like that there are so many sections because I did order a paint set that had quite a few colors. The first palette I ordered Was heavy because it was ceramic and it did not have a lid, Both issues being a problem when transferring it from one location to another. I am also happy with the removable tray that I used to blend colors. When I left my class, the mixing tray was not yet dry so I simply closed my pallet and left the tray out to dry as I drove home. It seem to work for me.

I paid for this and bought one as a gift. I love being able to safely secure the colors I have mixed when I have other responsibilities. I have not experienced any leaking so far. I like the extra tray for mixing colors, but am unable to save these colors unless they are dry. I wish there was a way to fit the tray in place facing the lid.The paint in the individual pans did dry out despite a secure closure, but that is okay since I have only used this for watercolor paints thus far and can add more water as needed.The only real negative thing I have experienced is that the lid does not automatically align with the latch for locking in place. I often have to push down on the lid to be able to lock it and sometimes this has jostled my paint and ruins some of my colors. That said, I feel like the good definitely outweighs this issue and I would purchase it again.

I am very happy with this Palette, much larger than expected. I have other palettes of this kind but only for 18 colors (Mijello) which I used mainly for watercolors. They are great as they can keep paint moist longer, specially if you put a little a wet sponge inside when storing also they have mixing trays.I needed a palette for 24 colors Gouache and this is just perfect for it. If you are using this to travel I would wait for the paint to dry out almost completely, watercolors stick to the surface and they ll stay put, gouache will probably break loose at one point. The wells are not high all the way, so if the paint is still wet right out of the tube, you' ll have a mess. I handled my palette forgetting this and I had some colors moving to the next ones. Not big deal! I cleaned it and I was done.So! It is excellent if you are going to use to keep Gouache or watercolor moist ready for use. You have mixing trays and your colors at hand. Since is rather large I am not sure is that convenient for travel but if you do remember to wait for the paints to dry or you will have a real mess. This is a great for home or studio use. I was finally able to use my Gouache set (tubes) Very Happy!!

Nice large compartments and seals to keep your paints perfect every time

the shape of the paint wells are angled correctly enabling me to prop slightly on a rolls hand towel. spraying to wet the pigments, I can then tip my brushed in the well and pull out wet paint. My only wish is that the removable mixing tray be enamel or some finish that doesn't stain. I still call this perfect.

There are quite a few different kinds of these welled "leakproof" "travel" palettes on Amazon. None of them are particularly suitable for travel due to their enormous size, and numerous videos prove they aren't leakproof either. If that's what you're looking for, you'll need to go up a price bracket into the known brand name, professional quality accessories, but it's not the best idea for wet media anyway as humidity promotes mold growth.I bought the purple version of this box. It's definitely more lilac than purple in person, which is fine as I'm rather fond of lilac, but it would have been nice to know in advance that the pictures are useless. The outside of the lid is a smooth soft touch plastic and very enjoyable. Inside is a very distinct cream, not white as displayed in the images, but I have found this to be the case with all of these palettes with removeable trays. The only truly white ones seem to be the all in one molded ones. You may struggle to make accurate mixes in this palette with watercolours due to this. The wells themselves are a fine size, about equal to 1.5 full pans, and easily accessed with larger brushes so you're less likely to damage them. They are oriented far more suitably than the Paul Rubens wells, but you could switch the trays and have this one in the Paul Rubens box if you would prefer as they are the same size. The plastic for the trays is fairly low quality as you would expect and there are some strange inaccuracies in the sheets, different levels of polish and texture. I don't know that this would impact use, but it's something to be aware of. It's going to stain pretty quickly due to the nature of plastic anyway so the imperfections would soon be covered if the look of them would bother you.Thankfully none of the downfalls of this overpriced palette are of much concern to me as I pop out the removeable trays and use the boxes for pan storage, held in place with a little bit of Blu Tac, and then just switch them out as and when I want to keep them in the palette I'm using. I own far too much watercolour paint, it is an excellent problem to have. I can usually fit 74 full pans in the bottom of these kinds of boxes but this one is different. There are two raised edges running along the length of the inside of the box, separating the bottom space into three equally sized sections. There are no other raised edges like this and given that they're hidden underneath the well tray, I suspect it's not to make abnormally shaped mixing areas and is likely to help keep the tray in place instead. This makes storing pans slightly more difficult in this box compared to some of the others (Paul Rubens and Manci have completely flat bottoms beneath the well tray), offering enough space for 60 full pans, broken up into sets of 20 and with large gaps between them. I suppose I could use this to make 3 separate palettes within one box for different subjects rather than having 3 smaller tins on my desk. It's debatable whether this is more or less practical. The top tray does stay in place when closing the box though, which is something the other brands have thus far been unable to manage.I've added some images to show how I lay out the full pans if my explanation was confusing. They're white, so you can also clearly see that the palette itself is not. Like with anything you could spend your money on, it really depends on what you plan to do with the thing once you have it. For me, there are worse things I've spent my money on, but I'm not rushing to grab another one either. If they got rid of the raised edges in the bottom of the box, though, I'd likely get a few more in different colours. The matte, soft touch finish is really quite lovely and I wish more brands would adopt it over the sparkly gloss finish that scuffs and scratches so easily.

Solid little pack, perfect for my needs.

I researched this for some time because I wanted a specific design and also had stay wet technology, is air tight and leak proof. I have quite a few Meeden items so I knew the quality was guaranteed. I recommend it. I would mention though it is described as pink and it’s definately red as shown in the picture but it’s a scarlet red and very nice.
