I have gotten this set to work on both metal and nylon zippers. I have strong hands, and had to use it. And I did a lot of adroit finger work getting the new runners onto the zips. But it works if you're patient.The instructions are more about strategies on different types of zippers than the gritty part of how to pry and open and cut things. You have to figure out those things for yourself.

This kit is good for standard and smaller zippers. Larger than standard zippers will not be able to be replaced.

Wish it came with more sizes but it has been handy for a few coats gun cases boots that more than likely would have been thrown out that were still in good useable conditions. Waste not want not right.
