Have to admit I wanted the old monotonous multiplication I grew up listening to on a record but my grandkids ages 3, 5, and 9 ask to hear this in the car and sing along.

I am a long-time teacher of 30 years and have used these songs with kids from 2 to 12. My own daughter, now27, learned her multiplication tables using this CD. I HIGHLY recommend it as both an educator and as a mom.The CD doesn't have the traditional (and boring) chants of 2 x 2 is 4, etc. Instead, it uses a 'skip counting' methodput to music which is upbeat and really sticks in your head! I wish all parents would purchase and play thisCD for their kids --- maybe I would not have to spend so much time in my current 6th grade math class reviewing multiplication facts!

A must-have for every 2nd and 3rd grade teacher, and parents of this age group too! This is not a tool for memorizing the multiplication tables. It teaches skip counting, which is an awesome strategy to figure out the multiplication and division facts. If a child knows how to count by sevens all the way up to 70, then he can easily figure out 7 x 6 by counting by sevens on six fingers. (7, 14, 21, 28, 35, 42!) It's pretty impressive to see kids count like this. The songs are catchy and there are even little dances described within the sleeve for the multi-sensory approach. Buy this for your kid's teacher!

My kids did not take to these songs at all.I still remember the counting songs from when I was a kid. These just don't stick with you nor are the melodies very kid friendly.

I've been searching for this exact disk for a couple years. These are the songs that I memorized my multiplication tables by in the third grade. It's time for my kids to learn their times tables and they just don't make multiplication songs like they used to. Nostalgia aside, these tunes are great because each set gets a different style of song and additional lyrics which helps keep the children interested and keeps the songs from bleeding into each other.

This is the same CD that was used on the teaching channel by Ms. Saul, at least I think that was her name. This music has been around for awhile as I used it in my student teaching class quite a few years ago. However, the songs are still fun and very catchy as I still remembered some of them from 15+ years ago. They all have a different tune. My children haven't listened to the CD yet, but I'm sure once they do they will be singing the songs to help them remember answers.

This cd will sing by 3's (3,6 9,12,15..) 4's (4,8,12,16) but i was looking for each number saying exactly what its being multiplied by "2x4 =8, 5x2=10)... so that the kids can understand itlittle better..but thats just my opinion...

These are the songs my teacher used in third grade almost 30 years ago. I contacted her to ask her what songs she used since the skip counting songs I have tried with my kids weren't as catchy. These songs have played in my head everyday and I wanted to give my kids the same benefit. Other skip counting songs all sounded the same these all have distinctly different songs that help when they need to be recalled. The Alive Fives is my favorite!
