This is an indoor, supervised or safe area item. It is great for what we got it for, a donation box that sits on the table in front of us at events. It would also work well in an office setting where it is only accessible during business hours. It would be ok outside (weather related) since it's metal and has the flip up cover over the slot but it's a thin metal that will be very easily defeated if it's unattended and someone wants to take it. The hole on the back is designed to just drop down over a screw head and provides zero theft protection. But even if you were to drive screws through into a wall it would still be easy to rip down and take. This item, while it looks nice and does absolutely serve a purpose and works very well for what we do with it, it should by no means be used as a safe way to store anything or collect anything that's not being attended.
