I wouldn’t try these model kits without these tools or a similar set. These are sturdy and color coordinated, they’re the right size for the models.

This is my second pair of these I like them so much. Honestly the clippers is what makes this so good they are STURDY. I use them on plastic models for precision accuracy.

This set is intended to work with the steel sheets that make up the parts for the Metal Earth models by Fascinations, Inc.Overall, they can do that. However, they are not as high a quality as might be preferred by people who assemble these kits.Starting with the nippers, the tips of the jaws are sized appropriately for the relief area around the part separation points, though older models might be a little trickier if their relief cuts are a bit smaller. The edges of the nippers are not smooth - they do have some imperfections in the edge cuts. When in use, the jaws can be squeezed such that they will overlap, so care is required not to manipulate the handles to cause that problem.Next up is the long nosed pliers. The overall jaw length is a slight bit longer than the "jewelers" pliers I have from the "C" company. The jaws are little on the wide side. The important part here is that the jaws are not finished smooth. The faced clamping surface is grooved. While that's great for grip, that's not great for bending long segments or manipulating pieces of models without marring them. Thus one has to be careful with what's being held. The stubby pliers suffer the same issue as the long nosed pliers, and I haven't used them too often as a result. The grips are simple coatings over the handles, which might cause fatigue over long periods of use.The tweezers included here are serviceable and have gotten quite a bit of use, though also not high quality.I do use the nippers for just that - nipping. I rarely use the two pliers because of the grooving on the face of the jaws from the machining - I wish they had been finished smooth. For the price I don't think this set is worth what it costs. I feel one is better off looking for a better quality set and paying a bit more as good modeling tools are imperative - especially when building models with nicely finished surfaces that shouldn't be marred by poor tooling.
