It’s a good machine, works perfect. I kept meat cold then froze it for about 10 min. Great Grinder and a very good price.

I have a 3/4 HP Legg Big Byte Grinder, and so I am very comfortable making sausages in large quantities. That being said pulling out all of my project gear for making a few quick pounds of meat is a total pain in the behind (Yes I know first world problems, but I do this as a hobby so I like having the right tools). This grinder is perfect for my intended task. I have a 600 Pro Series KitchenAid mixer I'm using to drive this. Assembly is easy and straightforward if you have used grinders before. If you haven't I suggest watching a video or two. The metal of the actual grinding tube is a little thin, but if you consider the actual KitchenAid product was plastic I will take thin all day. There is a key advantage to a metal grinder, are you can freeze it before grinding, where plastic wouldn't take and hold the cold. Again the light material mass of the metal grinder won't hold cold as long as heavier metal products on dedicated grinders, it's lightyears ahead of a plastic solution. As for cleaning, I found it to be no better or worse than any grinder, and the inclusion of a fitted brush is ahead of the other grinder that I ordered a kit for cleaning after the fact at an additional expense. The need to hand wash is fine, I only run my bigger stuff through the dishwasher for sanitation considerations, I fully clean the parts by hand first, and end with a spray sanitizer anyways. The included blades are good enough for most tasks, I don't feel the need to try to hunt down extra blades. I would suggest using a non-foot-controlled grinder to stuff casings as a challenging task, again for a few links it would be ok, but I wouldn't suggest attempting to do tons of cased meat with this tool. I actually use a purpose-built stuffer that is hand-driven for this task should I be making cased sausage. Lastly, my only quality concern is around the meat stuffing tool for pushing it down the throat of the grinder, the plastic is very light weight. If you get overly forceful in pressing the meat down it could collapse or break and it's custom fit to this grinder. In conclusion, this is a great ad hoc grinder for a few pounds of meat. Given the option, I wouldn't plan to grind more than a few pounds of meat with this, it is possible but I would not recommend it.Easy to deploy, and use, easy to clean up.

Not very easy to clean but was very easy to assemble and works great with my kitchenaid.Don’t forget to keep in freezer prior to using so meat doesn’t fall apart while grinding!

works like a charm. the stainless steel is high quality, and it came out of the dishwasher beautifully.

Xmas 2023 we got a kitchen aid. In April 2024, I got this attachment. I’ve used it every month to grind various meats. It’s held up SO well. Chicken, pork, beef, tallow - runs great. I’m usually grinding 5-10 lbs of meat at a time and it never struggles. One suggestion - it doesn’t push out all of the meat, which is totally normal. Get a small ice cube tray or crush ice to no bigger than a 1†cube. Run a few pieces at the end of the meat to push out the last of your ground meat. If you want an even cleaner grind, store in your freezer. Also - DO NOT DISHWASH!!! The high heat will ruin the coating.

let me start off by saying it gets the job done and that's why it gets 3 stars.the good:1. it grinds well. if you know what you are doing and know what to watch for.2. it fits my GE mixer.3. it looks nicethe bad:1. the grind plates are too thin. this prevents honing/sharpening in the future and raises the risk of shattering the grind plate.2. the cutters are thin and has little angle to move meat efficiently. this prevents honing/sharpening in the future and raises the risk of braking blades.3. not all the grind plates and cutters are honed/sharpened flat. this causes gauging of the grind plate/cutter and puts metal flakes in the food.4. The smallest sausage tube is useless. the grinder can't move enough sausage "pressure" through that small tube to be worth your time. i got 6ft in 30 minutes trying to make breakfast sausage links.5. the mounting has to much slack. while grinding it can bob up and down which cant be good. but this could be specific to GE mixers.now let us get to grinding recommendations: when assembling put a few drops of veggie oil on the nylon washers in the back to prevent squeaking. choose a plate/cutter and put them on, don't crank the thing tight just snug will do, run for a few seconds and stop to check for metal shavings, if good continue, if bad those parts need to be sharpened/honed properly and flat, cut your meat into 1in cubes and don't force them in, light pressure is fine, when you wash them dry them by hand, don't let them drip dry in the rack. i don't truly know how long it will last but I'll bet on two years in my household if it catastrophically fails or lasts longer I'll do an update. i have no issue with kitchenaid style aluminum grinders they just need to be designed better.
