Used this to install a Kitchen exhaust fan Vent. 6inches. I couldnt find a plate for siding anywhere that was big enough. This one worked great. Strong as well.

This is a great product. Very thick material and just the right size for mounting my electrical meter onto. Makes it look really clean and neat on the outside of the house with new vinyl siding

There is nothing wrong with the product itself, but I am giving it two stars for lack of informative photos, and for the fact that returning it costs a little over half the price of ordering it.As described mounting block is very sturdy and consists of one piece (not a mounting block plus separate J-channel). What I did not expect, was that the back has two diagonal "crossmembers" - presumably to add rigidity.My plan was to use this block to support a sizable (11" x11"), weather-proof wall vent cap for a range hood exhaust. For that purpose I need to drill a 6-inch diameter hole for the vent pipe. I felt that doing so would compromise the integrity of this particular design, so I opted to return it.This product would do very well in supporting something that is surface-mounted (a meter) as opposed to anything that requires cutting a substantial hole for a vent or other conduit.Had there been more detailed photos of this product from every angle - front, back, side, top, bottom - I likely would not have ordered it for my purposes. I have added my own photos to help others who are trying to determine if they can use this product for their own scenarios.
