Be aware that with MIDI, you can't freely rotate the connector in relation to the jack. For these cables, the housing points to the left or right of your MIDI DIN jack (if the "notch" is on top or bottom), so be aware that it might block some nearby connector. The design of this cable is clever. On one end of the cable, the housing will point toward the right, if you flip it around the other end will point toward the left. This way you can at least take care of one end not blocking an adjacent jack. This cable won't work for all situations. Before ordering, I suggest you check the orientation and position of your audio & MIDI jacks before you purchase. Consider how this cable will connect to both your sending and receiving devices, and what jacks are on the left and right sides. Again, one end will block what is directly to the right of the MIDI DIN jack, and the other end will block what is directly on the left.

Handy stuff right here. If your going to get your midi switching groove on, these are a good value and they work in tight spaces.

A very well-made cable, seems to be very durable, and I'm unaware of anything else close to the low-profile nature of this option.

If these connected at a downward angle they would be perfect but the angle goes to the side and for my boss pedals are pretty much unusable.

Well, they are angled, and they do have a considerably lower profile than your typical DIN jack, but the pins are laid out horizontally and mirrored, so they tend to block the other MIDI jack (or anything else next to the target plug) and potentially have strange orientation problems depending on your use case.

They cover whatever is to the left or right of them, like power connectors or even the other midi connector. Why these were designed to exit to the side is beyond me. If they exited up or down, they would have been perfect.Unusable so I returned them.

Pretty cool design. I'm going to answer a question about these that everyone needs to know and I couldn't find the answer anywhere. They ARE wired to point opposite directions when you use two. Yes, it would be better if they angled them down at a 45* angle because they WILL cover other jacks immediately to the left and right of your midi jacks. If you don't need access to those jacks these are great because they seem to be the lowest profile MIDI cables around.
