Wood Stove Gasket Installation
- Be sure stove is cold.
- Wear protective gloves and eye protection.
- Protect work area with a drop cloth.
- Use a screwdriver or scraper to remove old gasket and clean door channels down to bare metal.
- Apply a bead of gasket cement in door channel.
- Press new gasket into wet cement and close door to check for airtight fit.
- Trim gasket as needed.
- Clean up all cement spills or excess immediately with wet cloth.

Excellent product, stove works so much better now since I replaced the old gasket with this one. I was told I could not replace my round gasket with this flat one but I actually like the flat better. Almost made it around my door twice, came up about six inches short so I’d definitely buy two next time. It fit inside the groove perfectly and the adhesive was wonderful. Stove burns so much better.

Bought a used woodstove that needed some TLC. After cleaning and repainting I used this gasket to replace the crumbling and rotten old one the stove came with using a wire wheel I cleaned up the metal and applied the cement before applying the gasket. I let it cure for 24 hours before my first firing. I noticed other users stating they had issues with the adhesion of the gasket cement but I have had the gasket in place for two years now and have had no problems with adhesion. Just ensure the metal is clean and let it cure properly and I doubt you'll have any issues.

I replaced the gasket on my pellet stove with this kit. It was easy to install. Getting the old adhesive out was a challenge. Also, be careful when cutting the new gasket. It was a little tricky and frayed at the end. It looks like the original one had some sort of fireproof tape to hold the end together.

Works great. In case you didn't know you are supposed to inspect your door seal every year and preplace your seal every 2-3 years. I didn't know this, so it came as a surprise when my wood stoves seal fell off. But repairing it with this kit was easy and effective.
