I wanted to write a review for this cage and let you know the good and bad points. I've been using the cage for 6 months now and keep 2 GPs in it currently.Good points:- Assembly was easy- Provides more room than other store-bought cages, at a cheaper price- Top-access allows easy cleaning of entire cage- Side panels of bottom contain most of the mess- Can attach multiple units together to make a larger cage areaBad points:- Bottom is soft (not hard / stable) so it needs to be placed on a hard, solid surface (floor, table, etc.)- The wire is not super heavy duty, so I'm not sure how well it would hold up to an assault by, say, a dog or cat that tried to sit on top of it, etc.. It is plenty stable to contain GPs, but if you want to leave it out in a room with very rambunctious animals / young kids, you might want a heavier metal cage (like a C&C grid cage with a top).Setup things to consider:- I don't use the "dining area" divider. I use a litter box under their hay rack instead. The divider breaks up their running room too much...and boy, do they run... The divider may add a little stability to the cage, but it still works without it.- You should still put something over the ENTIRE floor of the cage. I use a layer of heavy plastic, with an absorbent layer over that (u-haul blanket), then fleece fabric on top. This allows me to sweep up poo / hay daily, then change out the bedding weekly (and wash). This also protects the bottom. I will pull everything out and then spray a cleaning agent on any spots on the bottom of the cage and it cleans up well. I have had no issues with fluids leaking through the bottom.. But it would be a PAIN to clean without any bedding over it (the GPs will go everywhere, even if their food is in one area, so you have to use bedding of some kind in the whole cage.- Although setup was easy, I don't think the cage would be easy to setup / breakdown multiple times. I haven't had to break it down since setting it up, so I can speak to this.- The bottom sides go up about 4" on my cage. This helps keep some debris in the cage. The GPs run though, so kick stuff (litter, poo, food, etc.) out of their cage frequently. To help keep their dining area neater, I clipped some fabric around that end of the cage over the wire sides (outside cage) this seems to work pretty well, but vacuuming around the cage area still has to be done frequently.Overall, I would buy this cage again.... And I may buy one pretty soon to attach to my current one (got a third GP recently) to give them more room. It is well made and does what it is designed to do. I think it is the best option other than building your own cage.- I'd advise buying this one (the plus model) that includes the top... You might end up needing the top even if you think you don't and buying it by itself is very expensive.

For the price (I paid $35 for the cage with top), I think this is an awesome cage. It's easy to put together and meets the minimum cage size requirement for two guinea pigs. I am very happy that a simple, affordable option is available because I think it will encourage more guinea pig owners to provide an appropriate space for their piggies. However, there are a few cons to this cage. It is a little flimsy/wobbly. It's not unusable, but it might be worthwhile to add a few zip ties to it. The liner is soft, unlike the rigid bottom of a C&C cage, so it will be a little more difficult to move or place on a table, as it would have to be the same size or bigger. The liner is a bit too short for loose bedding, so the guinea pigs can kick pieces out more easily. The horizontal bars on the cage make my water bottle just a little too low, or a little too high. Right now I have it attached to the door, but I'm planning to create a better solution. The top is kind of a pain to put on. Also, my cage arrived with a few slightly bent/warped panels, which might be why my top is so difficult. For some reason they shipped it directly in its packaging, instead of inside a shipping box. However, Amazon sent me a replacement right away, and did not expect me to return the bent one! I was impressed with the customer service! I've only had the cage for a week, so I can't comment on the staining issue. I never see the bottom anyways... as long as it's sanitary and smells clean, stains don't bother me.In my area, it would cost the same to build a C&C cage, which I plan to eventually do. However, this cage was an excellent option for the time being and allowed me to have a nice cage very quickly for my two rescues. In my opinion, if you don't want to bother with building a C&C, or the materials are hard to find or too expensive in your area, this is a really great option. It will meet your needs, and you can add on to it in the future if you want to. I wouldn't pay the $80 they are charging at the pet store, though! One more note to add: I've seen some reviewers complaining about waste getting stuck in the bars. You can avoid this by simply attaching the vinyl liner inside of the bars, like in my picture.

Loved the size. Fits perfectly for my 2 piggies. As other reviewers said, the canvas itself is an issue as the piggies have started staining them and chewing off them although i usually had a fleece and pee pads. Especially worse so on the ramp sides, likely one day the canvas on the ramp may be entirely eaten up by them lol.Aside, liked that it is open top, spacious and generally easy to build and maintain. Material seems to be durable as well. Hopefully it does not rust as easy. A little tad expensive though compared to other diy c&c cages.

This is the best cage ever! A very reasonable price also. I have no idea why I didn't get one of these from the get go of owning guinea pigs. My piggies are so much more happier now, and there is so much more room for accessories and toys. I love that the cage is expandable also so you can add on if you want more guinea pigs. It is so much easier for me to keep clean making my darlings so much more happier. I line the cage with puppy pee pads and then the pink blanket on top. All i have to do in a full cage clean is wipe down the green liner. Replace pee pads and change the blanket. I already clean up poops twice a day. And full clean weekly. So much easier than having to take a whole bottom of a cage apart and emptying somewhere else. But nothing leaks onto the green liner anyway. There is another amazon review on here that someone mentions the cage is flimsy. That is NOT the case. The cage basically comes assembled already, you just have to attach one corner and then put the lining on the bottom which is done with velcro straps on edges. And then the lid onto the top. There are metal clips to keep the top on.)My blankets on top are only there as nights have been cold. It comes off during the day time. I recommend this cage highly. You can also purchase a replacement liner (green part) separate But i don't think i will have to in a long time.My first pic I is the whole cage, the second pic is the clips that go all the way around the top, the third pic is the Velcro straps that the green liner is attached to the cage with, and the Fourth pic is the opening of which you can expand your cage or you can open it if you let your piggies run freely.
