If my review is helpful, please indicate that it was.I gave this five stars even though the product is not ideal for my uses - but that is because of my poor choice in selecting my purchase, not the product. So, I wanted to review based on the product and its ability to fulfill its advertised purpose versus its inability to fulfill my desired purpose.I purchased for a reading light. It works great, but is a little over-powering and a wee bit on the big side for reading. However, as a former pianist, I can only imagine that this is an excellent music stand light. The LED lights produce, bright, white, easy to read light. It illuminates a very good area. The push buttons to turn on and off the arms are wonderful and also allow the dimming feature, which is also very nice. I find that one arm on half power easily illuminates my entire book while reading in bed. I would think that both arms turned on full on a music stand would be more than enough and then some. One reviewer disliked the push buttons due to the possibility that they may be turned on in a instrument bag and run out of batteries...I see the possibility, but favor the push button flexibility, so I do not find this to be a negative. If I were that reviewer, I would keep spare batteries and try and be cognizant of how I am storing it. The reason I particularly like the push buttons is that this light replaced a prior reading light with a slide on and off. As time wore on the light no longer turns on as the metal from the slide mechanism fails to provide a connection. This is fixed when applying pressure or using a rubber-band, but generally a pain. The buttons ensure that the lack of a connection will not occur in this light.Pros - Button on and off, flexible arms that are easily positioned, very bright LED lights, the ability to have full power or half power for each arm, the ability to switch from battery to adapter power, a strong clamp. Product seems to have quality parts and to be well made. I also think the price point is very reasonable.Cons - Not the right light for reading, but I consider this to be my fault in choosing this product for that purpose.In sum - if you are looking for a great music stand light - I think you found a winner and you should purchase it. If you are looking for a reading lamp for books, I would suggest you look otherwise, but still turn to the Might Bright brand as I was very impressed with this lamp.

I have had a Mighty Bright Hammerhead LED light in my car for reading, etc.; I have been very pleased with it, and actually was looking for additional Hammerheads when I found the Encore. I bought the larger Orchestra light for a gift for a musician, but decided this smaller unit would be a great light for myself. I now use the Encore lamp every day for reading; it is very effective and fully directional, so it does not disturb my husband, nor does it glare harshly on the page. The light is cast evenly across the page, blue white, and the flexible arm/neck is easy to adjust.I also bought the Mighty Bright light cradle, which is very compact and lightweight, yet manages to balance the Encore light quite effectively. It is easy to attach and remove, in case I wish to use the clamp feature.I had been using battery lamps; I've had little satisfaction with rechargeable units, and hated using disposable batteries. The AC adapter with 13 foot power cord is lightweight and easy to use, running through narrow space in furnishings. The light is also battery capable. The light comes in a nicely made zippered canvas case, with a carrying pouch for the AC adapter.If you are looking for a light for a music stand, I do think this would be terrific, casting the light only on the page, not into the musician's eyes or into the audience. The light intensity is perfect, not too bright, but fully illuminating the pages. For stage use, the batteries would be great, and the AC for practice at home. The unit does not charge the batteries, so either a separate charger would be needed, or use disposables.One note: if you are working with several sheets of music simultaneously, the larger Mighty Bright Orchestra light may be more appropriate. Other than a larger size, the features of the Orchestra light and the Encore are identical.
