You wouldn't believe how hard it is to find a good brad point bit like this. I figured a drill bit is a drill bit, but not so. I returned the Irwin bit I got locally because it could barely drill through fir, and the Vermont American bit I got could at least do the job but it just didn't seem too sharp. I tried at least one other brand too with the same results. For some reason this is the only 5/16" brad point bit that actually works the way it should. I'm a professional woodworker and I use this particular size a lot so it's important that it does what it's supposed to, which is why I bought ten of them. They're surprisingly hard to find too, as those ten bits came from somewhere else since Amazon didn't have any.

This drill bit has terrible runout and will not drill a clean hole without damaging the surrounding wood.

Theres not a lot you can say about a bit. It is sharp. It spins true without any wobble. It works ok with a decent bit stop.

I bought this because the bit that came in a template kit for cabinet handles was terrible and made drilling a major chore. I knew the Milwaukee brand was good stuff, so ordered this and what a difference. Drilled through hard wood like butter. Night and day over the cheapie that came in the kit.

I liked the fact that it drilled end grain without any trouble. I used it to drill whistle for VBS projects for kids.
