I purchased a Milwaukee 100’ tape measure for measuring home exteriors for appraisals. It was better quality with a very durable metal with plastic coated tape. It was very reliable and made it through a year and a half of normal two appraisal a day use. Now this product is made with a cheaper vinyl tape which rips and cracks too easily. It is a common problem I have found with all vinyl type tape measures. They all break when fall turns to winter it seems. I am disappointed, though, that this tape measure only lasted about 6 months before the tape ripped. I liked the old one with the strong tape better. Milwaukee, if you are reading this, please bring back the stronger tape measure.

I use this style of tape daily in construction. After about 2 weeks the printing wore off and now I can’t read the numbers. Won’t buy this one again

I have tried them all. Use them daily for appraisals. This WAS the best one out there until Milwaukee got cheap and changed the design. Teeth on the end are gone so just slips off everything and the open hook is also absent. Warranty is also garbage - one has to send it. Can't just exchange like one can with lower priced alternatives. If you want an open real that will last take a look at the Komelon N9100. Little pricey but well built

Don't use one much like I used to, but when I need one, I need it NOW. I like their tools, this is no exception. The 3-1 crank is great!
