The kit comes with materials needed and directions. This was given to my nephew for Christmas who is 11. He has enjoyed it, but says that some of the pieces or concepts are much more basic then he expected in this type of kit. I would say the value for the product is about right. There is educational value because it teaches the sciences and concepts behind the projects. I don’t think I would give it to anyone below 3rd grade or anyone above 5th.

Even my 4 and 6 year old are enjoying doing the activities and asking to do them again and again. Will be buying for a friend’s kid next.

Purchased for our 9 year old granddaughter. She was able to read directions for herself. With a little assistance she was able to set up forensic experiments. Her smile said everything. Good purchase!
