Works great transferring from Solar power to Generator power, but won’t transfer back without manually switching it.

My old distribution box has no room. I will change the meterhead to one that has breaker space so we can use this ATS to Break before Make with the emergency generator.

The wire lugs are poorly engineered... they won't stay in place and that makes it very difficult for installation....

First off there is no real diagram. I am a retired residential electrician and found simple paper almost usless. Application for solar as main source of power and grid for back up, simple. It would not switch back and forth. When wired as solar was hooked to the grid source or top lugs. The middle lower was hooked to grid. The bottom was the load. When in the auto mode it would go directly to grid. Would not switch back and forth.

im not sure what happened but when I connected this to use as a failover for my generator and backup to the house grid power, the first time it switched over, the second time it blew out a puff of smoke and never worked again.
