I bought this valve for our guest bathroom. We did a full renovation in our guest bathroom and we hired licensed contractor. So installation part, I cannot comment anything because I didn't install this valve, the contractor installed. I uploaded some photos after the valve is installed, and you are welcome to check the photos.Since this valve is in our guest bathroom, we don't use this bathroom daily. But we have tried the bathroom a couple of times so far, including using this valve, this valve seems work well. It is easy to turn on the water and rotate to get the desired water temperature. However, as our usage on this valve is pretty limited so far, I don't have much comment on the longevity of this valve. Hope it lasts many years.Overall, I give 5 stars rating to this valve.

These are easy to use rough-ins and while there are better alternatives supporting more sophisticated valves, this rough-in works fine for the appropriate moen valve. It does have one minor drawback you should be aware of. The valve feeds water into a dual outlet distribution line. So you can have a bath spigot on the lower outlet and the shower on the upper. However, I've noticed the internal drill hole for these outlets impinges just slightly on the receiver for the 1/2 inch copper pipes that feed to the bath or shower. You can get around this by notching the pipes before soldering them into the rough-in - however it's useful to know! If you don't notch the pipes you might have a slightly reduced water flow or noise from the discontinuity.I use this rough-in only when I'm working on a house with other Moen rough-ins - so the home owner only has one valve assembly to buy. However I wouldn't use these in my own home due to the limited range of valve types. I prefer regulated water temperature where the shower only 'comes on' when the preset water temperature is attained.

Works great, it's moen so it'll last. The separate on/off valves for the hot and cold inlets is a nice touch. My only beef is that the instructions don't say what depth it needs to be installed. The correct depth is with the metal housing of the valve even with your wall. When I tiled my shower and installed this, it ended up being too deep into the wall and I had to buy the moen extension kit. The kit was ~$20 and easy to install, but I easily would've made this more shallow had the instructions been more clear about the depth.

I have been plumbing for many years now. I have worked as a maintenance engineer in Las Vegas high rise hotels with up to 3000 rooms for over 30 years. The Moen PosiTemp shower valve is by far my favorite. It has a low failure rate and it is easy to repair if it does go bad. (Pull one clip and change the cartridge.) Moen’s warrantee and customer service is excellent. I have had many friends call them up and they’ve sent out the replacement parts right away including any specialty tools that were needed.I like this valve so much, I put it in my own house.I like that if someone flushes the toilet or runs the washer while I’m in the shower, there is no change in temperature and only a slight change in pressure. The only negative thing that I can say about the 2570 is that the integral stops don’t always line up in the right position so be careful. While this is an issue, I don’t think it’s enough to keep me from giving this valve 5 stars. If your installing this in a residential shower, you might even consider getting one without stops in order to save a few dollars.A side note, this is a solder in valve. Soldering copper into brass can be a little challenging. If you’re not a professional plumber, you should at least consider hiring one.
