The waist is too small for size S. The hips are very comfortable. The material, and the design are excellent.

I live in AZ so wear shorts a lot. I wanted the four pockets because I walk 3-4 hours a day with my dog. He needs poop bags and treats. I need tissues, my phone, etc. the pockets are big enough, can be snapped shut and the elastic waistline is very comfortable. The material is soft and lightweight, the beige color goes with all my shirts and the fit was just right. They wash up nice and I recommend the product and the price was right!

I love these shorts. I tried these on and immediately ordered another pair (rice white). Finally shorts that fit me. I am slender and I don't want baggy shorts that are too big in the waist and then look like a skirt on me. Sadly Duluth does that, so even though they have great quality, fit and ease of care come first. These have it !Update: I bought another pair because they are just the perfect shorts in hot weather and the pull on waist means there's no issue with a too big or too small waist. They wash great as well.

Fit is great. Fabric feels wonderful. The white (rice) is basically see-through. I plan to keep, but wear long shirts.

Usually I look pretty frumpy in this length of shorts as I am not quite 5 feet tall and have hips and a wider waist. But I bought the longer version and love them so gave these a shot. They come to the middle of my knee, waist fits just fine, could be looser but I don't have a small waist. They don't balloon out in the wrong places and actually seem quite slimming and flattering. They are lightweight. I'm 73 now in good shape but am starting to wonder about the shorter shorts, I wanted something that covered more and would almost act like a skirt. These do the trick. I can still wear the shorter shorts but I don't like wearing the mo restaurants, etc. and I live in a very hot climate. Glad I found these as have never been able to wear a longer version before, they never fit right.
