These crucibles are terrific for small casting projects. I use them to cast sterling silver for my projects and to melt copper, brass and pewter scrap to cast ingots. The silicon carbide material they are made from, makes working with them less delicate than graphite crucibles. They seem to be fairly robust against chemical attack by flux as well, having used flux in a different crucible 3 times now, and it isn't showing any real erosion symptoms yet. That alone was kind of impressive to me. So far I have also gotten 10 uses from one without flux, and it has shown no signs of chipping or cracking, though my crucible tongs also have insulation sleeves on the jaws, which does provide some limited padding. Overall, an excellent product at a good price point. Will purchase again as needed.

I had never had one made with graphite. Won’t go back. Worth the extra money for sure.

First time using silicon carbide crucibles, huge difference, this one looks brand new after 5 melts, super easy to clean, no cracking. Extremely satisfied with this.

I recieved it in Jan. And just now used it today feb28 2025 for the first time I got two melts out of it. On the second melt the edge just fell apart as you can see in the pict. You can also see it has only been used a couple of times. Anyway the return date has passed nothing I can do about that. Also there isn’t any way too contact the seller that I can find to see if this can be resolved. So my suggestion to you folks out there when purchasing something make sure there is something showing that you can contact the seller. This is also the reason I’m only giving it 1star. And because of the quality of the product

I am very happy with my purchase and I think it is excellent value for money. If you are on the fence, buy it, you won't regret it.
