The globes are spun aluminum and finished by gold anodizing them. This weathervane is recommended for use on a 24" - 30" cupola, two car garage or medium size home.

The person installing it for me broke it trying to get it perfectly in alignment but was able to fix it easily and it looks beautiful on our barn. You wouldn't know that the gold balls on it are plastic. Everything else was a fairly heavy duty metal. I compared a lot of different ones and feel this one is definitely worth the price.

Love the weathervane. It is the perfect size for our little barn. It is well made too. The only thing we didn’t like was the mounting apparatus. It didn’t appear sturdy enough. I bought a different mounting base and it worked fine.

the Montague Metal Products 32-Inch Deluxe Weathervane looks great on our barn. It was super easy to install. Unless, of course, you don't like heights. As mentioned before, ours sits on our barn. It came nicely packaged and undamaged in transit. The instructions were spot on and easy to understand. The base was easily adjusted to meet our roof pitch. At time of review, this vane has withstood multiple sustained wind days exceeding 20mph, ( approx. 32kph ) and a couple over 35mph, ( approx. 56kph ) { all data from Weather Underground } No, we don't live in a wind test tunnel. Actually, it's just normal for our end of the Mohave Desert in NW Arizona. I hope you can enjoy and have as much luck with this as we have. I highly recommend the Montague Metal Products 32-Inch Deluxe Weathervane.

I removed the mount on bottom and used an eye bolt in my garage roof! I bolted with over sized steel washers to eye screw! Simple install, very secure! Only one hole in roof!
