My kid loves to play with these when I am working on my needling projects. Great way to spending time with your child and still do your thing lol.

This is a cute little set. We’ve had our fair share of this type of toy and I’ll share the pros and cons compared to others.First off, I’ll say this is pretty much what I expected. Description is pretty accurate, though the ages they recommend is a little off. They say 1-4 and I’d say more like 3-6 and the 3 is pushing it.I was looking for something for my 3 and 5 year old and this fit the bill. The needle is a thinner plastic and the holes aren’t much bigger than the needle and thread. This is what I was hoping for, but if your kids are younger and don’t have much experience with these, the size may be a bit small. We started with thicker ones because they were easier to manage. The thread is an embroidery type thread and doesn’t snag when you pull it through the holes. I like the vibrant colors and variety. I always wish more was included because my kids like using multiple colors on one project and cutting off the extras, seriously limiting what you can do with it from there. We actually have some thread we purchased, but didn’t need it for these…yet. They give plenty of thread and extra needles, both things I appreciate. The boards themselves aren’t a glossy smooths but they aren’t rough or anything. They are thin and one is kind of warped, but nothing that affects its function and probably will flatten out over time if I tried.I do think the price is a bit steep on these. These are similar to boards you can get from various other places for a smaller amount. However, if you’re gifting this and otherwise have to pay shipping for something else, it’s right on point.Overall, this a good fine motor toy. Especially for those slightly older little kids because it’s small. Watching the video in the description is helpful to get you going, shows you how to tie the thread and how get each hole. It’s a bit pricy and a little flimsy, but it’s a fun activity.

The embroidery boards are really cute, likely best for an advanced 5 year old (at the minimum) and older kids. The boards are a good size for kids to handle while working, not cumbersome or flimsy at all. Lightweight, but sturdy enough to feel valuable. Each image takes a while to complete so you don’t really want to take it apart afterwards, but decorating with them is a good option. Maybe in a bedroom? It does take quite a bit of patience and dexterity to fish the string through each hole with the plastic needle, and requires much thought to do so with a continuous line. Definitely challenging for younger kids but a good activity for a kid who likes detailed, tedious work and/or creating art. Wish I had these when I was young

This activity is better suited for 5 and up. The holes are small and too close together for toddlers. Also, the yarn and the needles were missing from the kit I received. I am returning.

The wooden lacing boards were a perfect activity to help our toddler with eye-hand coordination as well as color recognition. It is a great quiet-time activity that is easily portable. I like that it helps with focus and concentration. It comes with everything needed to complete four sewing boards, such as four plastic needles, and eight skeins of different colors of embroidery thread. The wooden boards are very durable and could last for years. In my opinion, this is a very good educational toy that I highly recommend!

This Montessori wooden lacing toy is a great option for teaching children fine motor skills and engaging them in an indoor activity. The wooden boards come in simple designs, and with several options of string/yarn colors. The package also comes with plastic needles that fit in the premade holes in the wooden designs. This would be great for preschoolers and older children who like to learn patient lacing skills. It would be nice if the package came with more designs than just the 4 options.

I was surprised by the size, but still top quality. Just smaller then I thought.

Great idea, the fabric supplied is brightly colored and nice and does not come off on hands so far. The boards are wood, but not super well finished so there are bits of little slintery material on them. This should be cleaned up before playing with. Kids really enjoyed these.

This is a lovely little set with pretty simple designs that are fun for the little ones. Mine really likes looking at the shapes and talking about it before getting stuck in with the embroiding. The needle is a good quality plastic and a good length, perfect for little hands to manage. It also has a ball end so no risk of pricking but also helps with getting the needle and thread through each hole. Its great to develop in stages and try using 2 colours on one board so with just 4, there are many possibilities for play and exploration which is fab. Very well thought out and a fab activity to keep them busy
