This was so easy to,use and so effective. I always have a dog so'it was important to me that the salt be safe for my pet. Worked well, got rid of the snow and ice quickly, and apparently did not bother my pet’s feet at all!

I've used this before snow & ice storms and after I've shoveled. It works great! We have a cement ramp that leads from our mudroom door to our backyard. Since we have 3 big, old dogs, we have to keep this ramp clear of ice especially. All our local stores were sold out, so I was thrilled to have found this item on Amazon. This dealer sent out the box of jugs the day I ordered it. I couldn't be happier!

bought 5 of these on deep discount from a brick and mortar. was going to buy more but not going to pay the $41 price indicated (middle of winter, high demand, i get it)5 stars for paw friendly3 stars for average effectivenessThe product works. but don't expect it to work as well as the brands that are harsher on the paws. You are going to need to use a more focused spread (application) which means you end up using more for less coverage area. You can use a spreader device like a seed spreader for larger areas but in my opinion that spreads it too thin and it is much less effective. which ultimately makes this a fairly expensive option.The reason this is so safe on the paws is that this is the ONLY product I found that has absolutely has no salt or chloride. The sole ingredient listed is UREA CAS #57-13-6 which according to what I have found is....(CAPITALIZATION IS BY ME AND HIGHLIGHTS WHAT I FOUND IMPORTANT)Urea, also known as carbamide, is an organic compound with chemical formula CO(NH2)2. This amide has two –NH2 groups joined by a carbonyl (C=O) functional group.Urea serves an important role in the metabolism of nitrogen-containing compounds by animals and is the main nitrogen-containing substance in the urine of mammals. It is a colorless, odorless solid, highly soluble in water, AND IS PRACTICALLY NON TOXIC (LD50 is 15 g/kg for rats).[5] Dissolved in water, it is neither acidic nor alkaline. The body uses it in many processes, most notably nitrogen excretion. The liver forms it by combining two ammonia molecules (NH3) with a carbon dioxide (CO2) molecule in the urea cycle. Its up to you as to what you are willing to sacrifice.

This product arrived in a beat up box and the plastic lid on the product itself was cracked and a piece of it missing. A lot of it had spilled into the box and when I took it out of the box, a lot of it spilled on to my foyer. Did not melt much ice at all. Thankfully a neighbor had some pet safe calcium chloride which did the trick. Will never buy this again. Also it arrived a week late.

Good stuff, blue tint helps you see where you've hit and missed in the snow. No rocks or grit like some other stuff, this appears to be pure salt.

The product met all expectations, truly safe for pets , a little pricey at $20 per 8 pound jug but I would buy it again because my dogs.

It was fine for my dogs' paws but they tracked it into the house. It only melted the ice directly below each nugget. Left a snow melt shadow on my deck.
