I started out trying to buy bearings/races separately at the local parts stores. After returning everything because they kept giving the wrong sizes (this was prior to disassembly), I saw this kit on amazon. i noticed this company offers two kits. The descriptions said the less expensive kit has KOYO bearings and the more expensive kit has TIMKEN bearins. I bought the less expensive KOYO. When I received my kit, the outer (smaller) pinion bearing and race were KOYO, but the inner (larger) pinion bearing, and both carrier bearing and races were TIMKEN! When I disassembled the differential i found all the original bearings matched EXACTLY what the kit came with, both the brand name and the part numbers! Everything was an OEM exact replacement! This kit made getting all the right parts SOOOO simple. Plus it came with a pinion seal, 2 pinion nuts (different thread pitches) and a brush and marking compound to check the wear patteren. I would give this kit 10 stars of i could! Thank you MOTIVE GEAR for putting together this awesome kit that takes ALL the hassle out of going to the parts houses and then making a bunch of return trips for exchanges/refunds. MOTIVE GEAR are PROS and they know their business. you can't go wrong with this kit. FYI, My truck is a 2000 F150 4x4 9.75" limited slip differential. Buy it!

So, I had never done a differential rebuild. Entered ALL proper information for my 2008 F150 King Ranch with a 9.75 differential. Thought I had looked closely enough at all the old and new bearings however the next day when I looked again at the outer Pinion bearing, I realized it was not the same height as the old one. Was able to compare numbers but knowing from many years ago working at a bearing supply company, I knew that often times a different number does not mean it won't work as often it is only a radius of the inner bearing piece or the race. I digress, in this case however it was the height. Ended up cutting the new inner bearing off the pinion and luckily the Ford dealer had the correct pinion bearings. After an additional $80, I was able to install those and finish the assembly. It now works and drives silent as it should. Added note, the carrier bearings and all the seals in the kit were correct just wrong pinion bearings. Can't get a refund as I had to cut the bearing off. Uggg
