It has a large opening in the back for easy access to the camera controls while still keeping the camera covered. That’s a big plus for me. My old cover has a small opening and in order to get to the controls and the viewfinder, I needed to expose the back of the camera to the elements. This is a nice improvement. And of course, you can snug the front of the cover to the lens with the adjustable tensioner.

Here are my recommendations for using this rain cover.1. As most lens shades are smooth, the cover will want to not stay in place. Either put on a wide rubber band on the end of the lens shade or get a neoprene jacket for the lens. Either way it provides something for the rain-cover to grip to and not move.2. Use a eyepiece on your viewfinder. This provides sealing around the separate eyepiece to cover the back of the camera. Another person was using a rain-cover without closing up the back and found water in the top of the status LCD and probably elsewhere too. With this particular rain-cover, this method requires you to remember the control button locations. An improvement would be to add a clear window so that you can see what button is what.3. If using a tripod or monopod, ALLWAYS carry with the lens/camera up. Carrying it from the lens tripod mound will allow water to run down into the lens. Hey gravity is still in effect. So either take the lens/camera off the tripod/monpod OR carry it over your shoulder.Hey this product works and folds up very small.

Had to use it yesterday which taking photos at a football game, in a medium drizzle. Cover worked great, and was easy to set up on my camera. Camera remained dry (have not tested it in heavier rains though, but I think in those circumstances, I don't know I would be shooting without an umbrella, as the back of the camera would get too wet). If I had any complaints, it would be that the back opening is a tad small for me (I keep my hands on the zoom ring of the lens), also, I wish there was a way to cover the back of the camera electronics/screen, but like I mentioned, I would probably be under better cover if it were raining hard. Perhaps a small clip or attachment to the hot shoe. Overall, I like the product so far. Use it with Canon 7DmarkII, Canon 70-200L f2.8 v2, monopod.

I’m a sports writer and photographer for a newspaper so it’s not uncommon that I have to shoot in the rain. I purchased this thinking that it would be a step above the bag that I usually wrap my camera in. The first use was fine, but upon my second use, water penetrated the cover somehow. There were no rips or tears in the bag and I had the sides sealed shut like I was supposed to, but about three minutes into shooting my camera starts bugging out. I go under a tent to remove the bag and it is absolutely soaked as if I had no cover on it. Now I have to spend 200-300 to get my camera repaired because this product didn’t work how it was intended, not to mention I am out of a camera for work until it is repaired. I am beyond frustrated with this product. Don’t waste your money, just use a bag to cover your camera. At the very worst, you’ll get the same result for much cheaper.

I used this raincover extensively in Alaska with a Canon 100-400mm IS II USM lens. I found that it cinched down on the front lens hood very well (over the neoprene cover that I have installed) and I was able to cinch it around the entire Canon camera body with grip (covering it completely when moving around in the rain). I usually cinched it around the top and bottom of the body when in use. I used the shutter button by feel through the cover very easily and still had full access to the back of the camera. When using it in this manner, the rear of the camera still gets wet in a rainstorm, but most of the camera body is still covered with this rain cover. It's not a perfect design, but I found it very useful in the field and my camera was still pretty easy to use. I had trouble accessing some of the switches on the lens while in use and I found it easier to use my lens as a push-pull zoom lens (totally loosened) rather than having to turn the zoom ring (luckily, this lens allows for that). If you are using a lens where you have to turn a ring to zoom or focus, you may find it more difficult to use or find the velcro to be scratchy on your wrist (while allowing moisture to enter). I just gripped the lens hood and zoomed it like playing a trumpet!Lastly, the material was pretty watertight, but I found that it can get saturated while using it in an Alaskan downpour, so it may benefit from some additional waterproofing (which I plan to apply to mine!).

Great! it has a very malleable form, so it can fit my larger camera well, being still adjustable in case i wanted to add more components on my camera and still remain covered!

Come fotografo sportivo mi capita spesso di dover scattare sotto la pioggia e queste coperture sono davvero una panacea in questi casi. E' la seconda che compro e ne consiglio l'acquisto a chiunque abbia bisogno di una copertura di ottima qualità a poco prezzo.

Extremely well made and ample room to completely cover the camera.Absolutely perfect for what I wanted - wanted to be able to completely cover my cameras and protect from rain and dew during long time-lapse and astro photography shoots.I don't need to see the back monitor or viewfinder, as once the camera is setup it will be going for hours without needing to be touched. Easy to see the back monitor/view finder if needed by releasing the draw sting.I am using this Medium size with Sony A7iii, A7R3 and A6400 cameras all with battery grips and using longer lenses such as the 400mm and 600mm lenses and the cover can be easily closed with the draw strings.I also use a wireless remote trigger attached to the hot shoe and still there is no problem with room.
