I have the traditional Skullgard helmet with the small metal 'rivets'.This replacement suspension 'kit' is FAR better than what my Skullgard came with (I don't know if the newer Skullgards come with this type of suspension now).However: I have a bit of a 'bucket head' and my cap size is 7 1/2 to 7 3/4 - so I was a little wary of how this new suspension would fit. I found that the 'stock' headband it comes with is slightly bigger in size - but I always cut off the stock head bands and buy a different sweatband that can be taken off and on (to wash) such as the Weldas Sweatsopad Headband.This Fas-trac III fits perfectly into my hard hat and is comfortable (even more so with the Weldas headband) and the rear ratcheting mechanism fits further down the back of your head. The important feature of this is that when you look down or are over a hole and need to look down a lot - this ratchet mechanism allows you to tighten the headband to your head better than the old stock suspension. I don't worry anymore about my helmet falling off when doing a lot of work where you are looking down or working over a hole.The price is 'right' and I highly recommend using this type of suspension if you don't have one in your hard hat!

I actually have a fas-track 2 on my hard hat but I was able to use the 3 by trading out the suspension straps with the old one. The three has a different means of seating into the shell, of course I was disappointed it wasn't just a straight trade out but I still have a more comfortable hard hat now and the padding isn't a cracked and brittle.

Was not even sure I could replace the suspension in my hard hat. I figured I would look because they aren’t cheap ( to individuals that is ) and it was bought for me by a super. Was relieved when I seen they were available, I only had to choose the correct one. So if your suspension has four attachment points inside of it then this is the one for you. My original started loosening on its own Friday and I constantly had to retighten it all day, Amazon got it to my driveway the next day😊

I ordered this to replace my original MSA hardhat suspension which had cracks in the forehead padding.This replacement was not directly compatible with my hardhat because mine is designed to accept the plastic inserts for the suspension bands. What I received had metal clips that attach to a different style of hardhat.I was discouraged at first but after reading some reviews it was suggested that you can separate the suspension banding and attachment clips from the ratcheting headband assembly. I did this and was able to reuse my old suspension banding with the new headband.So for those of you who had the unfortunate surprise of fitment incompatibility for a non-refundable product that I did, please consider this advice!
