Although I still would solder in a more open area, this really does help with removing all that bad fumes away from you. I usually do a bunch of replacements on chips and doing soldering so this works great for that. When I am heating a chip off, it keeps the flux odor from coming right at me while also allowing me to maintain visual of the area I am trying to work on. The filters are pretty nice and they are pretty effective. I can see the amount of build up on the filter after several uses. It comes with three filters so you can use that how you will. I am unsure if they are able to sell replacement or if you can just wash this and reuse them. I am not entirely sure how long you can use each filter for but use your best judgement when working with this. The device is not extremely heavy but can be a bit loud. You need to make sure it is not too far from where you are soldering (five inches is recommended). It can pull the fumes away pretty well. The fan really only has one setting so you are not able to increase the speed. I honestly would not want to. The fan does cause vibrations but it does not cause the device to fall over or anything. It stands up pretty well. It is light and small enough where you can easily move this around as needed. Replacing the filter is not too hard. You just remove the front panel and swap out the filter. Although this does filter out the harmful fumes, I would still recommend you solder in an open area. Overall the device works pretty well. It is well built but easy to disassemble so you can replace the filters as needed. The device stands well but the fan can be a tad bit loud. Because you are working closely to it you, it can be a bit annoying. The filters do the job in keeping the fumes to a minimum. Would I say it is perfect? No which is why I suggest you still use this as well as solder in a more open area just to be safe. The fan is solid. It also has plenty of grills to protect your hand so you do not get it caught in the blades. It eliminates a good amount of fumes so you can be a bit safer in your work space.

I am happy to share my experience qbouz the Solder Fume Extractor Filtration fan. This device is an essential tool for anyone who works with soldering iron or similar equipment that produces harmful fumes. The Solder Fume Extractor Filtration device is easy to use and compact in size. It features a powerful fan that draws in fumes and passes them through a series of filters before releasing clean air back into the workspace. The device also comes with an adjustable arm that allows you to position it precisely where you need it, ensuring that it captures fumes directly at the source. The filtration system used in this device is highly effective at removing harmful particles and chemicals from the air. It uses a combination of activated carbon and HEPA filters, which capture even the smallest particles, including lead, cadmium, and other hazardous chemicals commonly found in soldering fumes. One of the best features of this device is its quiet operation. Unlike other fume extractors that produce loud noise, this device operates almost silently, making it perfect for use in small or shared workspaces. The Solder Fume Extractor Filtration device is also very easy to maintain. The filters are replaceable and easy to access, and the device comes with a filter replacement indicator that lets you know when it's time to change them.Overall, I highly recommend the Solder Fume Extractor Filtration device for anyone who works with soldering equipment. It's easy to use, highly effective, and quiet, making it an excellent investment for anyone who values a clean and healthy workspace.

It works really well! The suction is good and it is not anywhere near as loud as previous units I’ve owned, and this is ways cheaper! I’m so happy about it and I will definitely recommend it to anyone hoping to find a good extractor!

Overall the design of this solder fume extractor is great. The filter feels high quality and seems to contain some porcelain like web on the back side, and is filled with carbon for odor / organic vapor capture. You get a few replacement "front filter media", however you only get one carbon filter media. Finding a replacement carbon filter media will likely be difficult making the lifespan on this filter limited. You may be able to make a replacement, but the only replacement options seem to be DIY.The power cable seems a little thin. It carries mains (110v) voltage, and is only ~20 gauge. It theoretically shouldn't be a problem, but seems a bit undersized. The case is sturdy plastic and doesn't feel too cheap. The design and assembly is simple allowing maintenance and repair. It's assembled with long hex head screws. The fan used is an unknown Xyoqifan brand, 80-240V made by Shen Zhen Xing Yong Qi Technology Co. LTD.The switch feels sturdy and will likely last a reasonable lifespan.Overall this is a good deal for the price. If you're looking for a reasonably cheap solder fume extractor, this will work well and help reduce your exposure to potentially harmful vapors you may experience in extended soldering sessions.

I will be the first to admit that I prefer solder that contains lead and of course that comes with certain risks. Obviously breathing in any smoke from soldering is not really great for you health, so I decided to invest in this. The product feels very durable, but I don't recommend knocking it off your workbench just for fun. It is not dead silent, but it is not obnoxiously loud. It has excellent air flow and pulls the smoke away from the component I am soldering instantly. Not only does it save your lungs, but it also makes it easier to see what you are soldering since the smoke is being pulled away. For the money, it is completely worth it. I really wish I would have gotten this when I started working on electronics. Definitely a game changer!

Firstly the unit came with a US plug instead of an AU plug. When I pulled the fan from the box it was rattling. When I took the filter off the front, I noticed the fan was broken of the motor and it was loose in the unit. Very disappointing quality from such an expensive fan.

If you put filter in a wrong way, does not work, I made that mistake. When kept close enough, it works well, just so noisy, but if you are not sensitive to loud fans, that is not problem.
