Bought it to use with oven for DTF Machine due to issues with smells and asthma. It is perfect. I don’t smell anything at all while using it. Small so it sits behind the oven and doesn’t take up much space at all.

The fume extractor can run silently at low speeds or have higher flow rates with some noise. I think the extractor is a bit overkill for soldering and the included panel mounting flange is more suited for connecting to a 3d printer or laser system. The flange needs a 63mm or 2.5in hole to mount the hose and that will also support the hose in place. The mount can be unscrewed from the included hose and put on a longer hose, if needed. If you are extending the hose to your soldering workspace, you will need to figure out a way to support it or you can lay it on the table. It's well engineered and made of steel, with a 3 step filter (prefilter, carbon, dense paper filter). The box/filters are insulated to keep air from leaking into the unit.

This review is contingent on the availability of replacement filters. If replacement filters are available, then boost this to 5 stars, if not then drop it to 1 star (for not supporting the product). I have not found any replacement HEPA filters on Amazon either offered with the product or when searching by size (see below). Since there are other brands selling similar small fume extractors, I was hoping to find a standard size available. There is at least one other brand selling what appears to be this same unit. The other brand also does not offer replacement filters alongside their product. My fingers are crossed we'll see them soon.On first impressions, I really like this little HEPA filter box. The metal box is well constructed with a tight-fitting lid. The hose extends to a couple of feet, far enough to reach across the back of my 3D printer to the exhaust port. The business end of the hose is threaded and comes with a threaded flange so you can mount the hose to a collector of sorts. On its lowest speeds the fan is very quiet, but on it's highest speeds the fan is quite noticeable. The wall-wort power supply is rather large. It hangs down (from vertically installed plugs). The power supply does not indicate UL or CE listing. That is usually a no-go for me so I will be looking for a replacement power supply that is UL or CE listed. I am controlling the power using a smart plug so that I can set a timer to turn the unit off about 30 minutes after my 3D print project has finished. The filter compartment is about 5.75" x 5.75" x 1.25". The OEM HEPA filter is 5.5" x 5.5"x1" (140mm x 140mm x 25mm), with a foam band around the outside perimeter making the overall size 5.75" x 5.75" x 1" (146mm x 146mm x 25mm). These sizes are very close approximates. The prefilter and charcoal filter are very thin. There is a little extra head-space in the top so I think a thicker charcoal filter can be used.In my case I got this for use with a 3D printer, especially when printing ABS plastic. My printer has a charcoal filter built-in, but not a HEPA filter. I will make a collector box to mount on the back of the printer over its exhaust port, to which I'll mount the business end of this unit's hose. My intent is to build air-gaps in the collector so as to not affect the printer's own airflow since it is adjusting fan speed depending on the needs of the project. Then, with this filter unit, I intend to run it at such a speed to have air pulling in from the air gap, as well as the printer exhaust. The printer's exhaust is not very strong so I think this unit will easily do the job. I also plan to add an exhaust fan to vent the entire room, but I really like the idea of capturing whatever I can right out of the printer.

Works great. The gooseneck style hose can be contorted in so many ways which makes this very useful. Suck up all the fumes please!! Thank you!!

Build quality is not so great. No on or off button. Noisy fan and does not extract fumes efficiently. There's no replacement filters to purchase. I'd save money and get something with more power and filter replacements.

This solder fume extractor works great.I have several different types of solder fume extractors and this is my favorite. The hose makes this work much better as I can position it right above the parts I'm soldering. The ones that stand to the side don't always work as you have to put it right next to the part you are soldering and many times the part is too large to get the extractor close enough for it to work.No such issue with thise one as you can position the hose exactly where you need it.

It cannot keep up with the Xtool P2s which is why i bought it. Now that being said i will be using it for my other two diode laser. This is the reason i gave it 3 stars.

I love this thing because it so compact and I can move it around to suit my needs easily. Before I had this, I've tried just about everything - I had a small cooking range hood for soldering, and a large (too large) ventilator that I had tried with flex duct on my 3d printer enclosure. The 3d printer ventilator was a bit of a pain as I had to run flex duct out through a slot in my window, so not really conducive for winter weather. This looks exactly like the video shows, it's a small tabletop unit with a variable speed drive that I can move very easily between my workbench where I solder and run my lapidary equipment, and my 3d printer enclosure. The duct is easy to move since it compresses into a tiny little thing and I love that this provides 3 layers of filtration. I am getting rid of my two other filtration fans and cumbersome ductwork now that I have this fume extractor. The variable feed allows me to pull the amount of draft I need for each activity, which I didn't have that capability before. This fume extractor has been such a joy to use, replacing two other pieces of equipment that were more cumbersome and didn't have the adjustable draft that this one has. It has a small footprint, filters the air, and versatile to use in a multitude of applications. I love it.
