This is VERY sturdy foil. I had hoped to wrap some ordinary pots with it, but it is much to sturdy for that use. It is a nice product if you need heavy duty.

Perfect gauge for art projects. Cuts easily with scissors or on your paper cutter. Edges will be sharp, as would be expected, but can easily be folded over to the back for safer use with students. One side is still silver aluminum, which is nice, it's like getting two products in one. If you're using to color with markers, know that Sharpies aren't the best and can even remove the copper color. Use Ticonderoga permanent markers instead - easier, faster coverage, no surface removal!

I use this to cover my cardboard cake rounds when I like to dress them up for presentation. It is really nice deep gold. It doesn't look or feel cheap! Very thick!

We used this for Baked Potatoes. What a huge disaster. First, this foil is extremely thick and was tough to wrap the potatoes. We baked them as usual and when I removed them from the over all of the gold came off on to my hand as a thick sticky orange. I had to completely scrap the gold foil potato plan and serve the baked potatoes bare. And, getting that sticky orange off my hands took a great deal of scrubbing with soap and a harsh sponge.

This is wonderful stuff! It is 3-4 times as thick as heavy duty foil. It bends to cover items really well! Thank you!

I'm a prop maker. I use foil tapes on a lot of my props to give them a metal look to them. I was hoping this foil would be thin like house hold aluminum foil, but it's not. It's kinda like a tin can sorta thickness. So I can't really use it for what I was hoping to. Not to worry, though, I found some other foil that I will be able to use, and this foil isn't all bad. I could see myself using this for prop armor, so I will be getting use out of it. :)Other thoughts: It's very light weight and cuts easy, however watch the sides when you cut it, and can get sharp and nick you. Contrary to what I've read in other reviews, the gold does NOT stay on if messed with or bent around too much. The gold will fade, but I guess it depends on what you're using it for.

I have purchased this foil in both gold and copper finishes from Amazon. Of all the foil that I have purchased, this is the only aluminum-based foil that can be embossed by hand without the colored finish coming off. I can cut it easily with household scissors and it runs through my Cuttlebug embossing/die cut machine without any problems. I am an artist working in mixed media and use the embossed foil to create large, elaborate collage pieces. Because I do a lot of hand embossing and really work the foil, the fact that the finish remains is very important.Cuttlebug Machine V2
